The trinity..again

I looked for the word "trinity in my Bible but could not find it yet is is taught in many churches today that God is 1 yet 3 different distinct persons...

With this I would like to show a few verses that tell us who our God is....

Isaiah 9:6

"For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

a few more verses from the book of John

John 1:1-4 and 10

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him."

Another verse Matthew 1:23

" Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated God with us."

Another verse and with great controversy are the next few verses I will show you....

Matthew 28:19

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Notice it says name as in SINGULAR NAME....Not NAMES as in plural.

Now...Here is Acts 2:38

""Then Peter said to them, repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall recieve the gift of the Holy Spirit."

What ? Jesus said to baptize in the NAME of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.......

We know the name of the Son is Jesus Christ...That is the only name given to us....Thus so, Peter obeyed Jesus by baptizing in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST

Now...Remember the verse in Isaiah ? John ? Who is Jesus ?

It is God coming to us in the flesh to save us from our sin...For who else has been born and lived a perfectly sinless life that could take on the sin of the world but the God of Abraham, the God of all things Himself ????

Another verse....The trinity is a very confusuing doctrine.....There is a reason for this beause godliness is a mystery...Don't believe it? Here is a verse that tells us the mystery of godliness. And it was a mystery for a reason...Because Jesus taught in parables to hide truth from the wicked and to reveal truth to the righteous...Here is the verse.

1 Timothy 3:16

" And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, recieved up into glory."

Who is that talking about ? It tells us that God, the creator of all things was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, recieved up into glory.

Whos is that? Jesus.

God is Spirit...God is Holy.....God Has a Holy Spirit....The Holy Spirit of God formed the flesh of Jesus in the womb of Mary and He was born in the flesh in this physical world and dwelled with us as Jesus....God came to us in the form of a man, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, rose from the dead, and was received up into glory....God formed the man Jesus...He is the Father, He is the Son, God is a Holy Spirit....The Father formed the flesh of Jesus, dwelled in Him, died on the cross, and the Holy Spirit of God raised Him from the dead and is glorified so that God dwells fully in Jesus.

I think you are blurring the lines quite a bit. Jesus is not the Father, nor is Jesus the Holy Spirit, or is the Father the Holy Spirit.

All are God, but they are not each other.

Read and listen to what is being said in the scripture that whitesands777 posted . because if you can't hear what they are saying. You won't hear us.

You make a lot of valid points. God is singular. There is only one God...Bottom line.

Jesus, Holy Spirit, and The Father are the Same person not three differant people.

Western Christianity makes God sound more like a Corporation rather then a Person. God is not three people housed in one body. Jesus is the physical manifestation of God. Remeber God is a Spirit.

I believe in a triune God but I do not believe they are 3 diffearnt people or persons.

God bless,

Jesus, Himself, preexisted with the Father. That is why it says, "and the Word (Jesus) became flesh and dwelt among us." He was with the Father before the incarnation.

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.

Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

...

Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Blessings....

Correct. Else, who was Jesus praying to all the time? Himself?

Also, regarding the Spirit, did Jesus say that he was going to depart only to later "send Himself" immediately back?

Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

Joh 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

The Bible declares that the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. Yet, the Bible maintains that there is only 1 God. So, the 3 Persons must be the 1 God. That's the Trinity in a nutshell.

It doesn't have to make complete sense to our finite minds. But, it is what the Bible declares.

Blessings...

Yes. He was praying to himself. Being set as the chief cornerstone of the temple. The head of the body. The supreme example of how to be. The teacher. The servant of all. He was teaching you by doing.

So, who spoke to Jesus here?

Mat 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

Mat 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Was He a ventriliquist talking to Himself? I don't mean to be sarcastic or irreverant, I'm just trying to make a point.

The plurality of God is manifest even from the OT:

Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

In the passage above we see the triune God conversing among themselves. Then, in verse 27 they convey their singularity. Yet, they are clearly different persons.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
