I've been trying to respect the OP by not getting into this - but I wanted to respond to this.

But the explanation might take years of immersion into the hebraic mindset to understand what Moses was actually saying and what he was not saying.

And what is a "good" English translation? (How many threads spend pages debating that one with no resolution?)

Is it your opinion there are no reliable English translation of the OT?

Have you ever learned a foreign language? If you have, then you would know that some words and expression just don't translate the message and meaning well.

For example: a Hispanic friend of mine was trying to explain to me why the song "La cucaracha" was hysterical. For the life of me I still can't figure out what's so funny about a cockroach not being able to walk right because it's missing a leg.

Do you truly believe that Hebrew and Greek are exceptions in this?

And like I was saying, if our translations are so perfect, why do we have so many, and why can't we agree on which one is the most authentic?

As for the inaccuracies of the English translations, I found a very good example recently:

So neb if each day of the earth is let's say 1,000 years old, and that's putting it short since these OEC believe its eons. since Genesis chapter 5 says adam lived to be 930 years old, then that means He didn't make it to day 7. Which means that if adam died before day 7 why did God call day 7 blessed and sanctified in Genesis chapter 2 verse 3; I'm sorry neb but when the translation is in doubt then you have to use the context of not only the verse your reading, but other verses as well.

Genesis 1 reads differently than Genesis 2, Genesis 3, and the whole rest of Genesis.

the Bible is like a giant puzzle, each puzzle piece is split up you have to go and get the other pieces and put them together in order to get the whole picture, if not you get an inaccurate conclusion and that's what's happening to you and Yod.

Actually, I gained so much more out of Genesis 1 by looking for its spiritual message than I ever did by trying to squeeze out a scientific understanding out of it.

Yod should have chosen the other definition for the word Yom, it makes more sense when you put it all together.

another example: The Genealogy from Abraham to Christ if this where the case would be inaccurate.

another example: why does the hebrew calendar say its the year 5770; something is not right Yod's interpretation makes no sense.

Actually, when I laid aside everything I was taught I was supposed to interpret Genesis 1 to say and mean and actually read what it says as-is, I saw a completely different picture than the YEC version. And I find it much more glorious that way.
