I'm leaning toward it (the EU) possibly being the 7th that continues for a short time.  Rev. 17:10 - 7 kings=Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Media-Persia, Greece, Rome.  5 fallen= Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Media-Persai, Greece.  One that still is = Rome and one yet to come--possible EU with the common market place, he must continue for a short time, and the beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven and is going to perdition.  We never hear much about the 8th, I think it will be Islaamic.  The old Roman Empire includes Algeria, Libya, Tunesia, Syria, Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon, Palestinian area...all Islaamic, all together all coming out of the sea, all with the common goal of conquering Israel.  Did you know that the Muslims are awaiting a world leader to convert the world to Islaam called the Mahdi?  Also, the color of Islaam is green and the Pale horse is choleros in greek meaning green and their symbol is the sword.

The Dragon's Next Step

The shadow of a great dragon is rising over Europe. The modern European Union began as an economic alliance between two nations -- France and Germany. Out of this small beginning, the EU has grown and evolved into what it is today -- an alliance of 15 European nations. And, in 2004 it will not only become an even bigger alliance of 25 nations, it will become a full-fledged legal political entity. In other words, the revived Roman Empire of end-times Bible prophecy will have officially arrived.

Most students of prophecy recognize this growing dragon for what it is -- the fulfillment of Bible prophecy concerning the rise of the Antichrist and his coming kingdom. But what many students still fail to see, however, is that behind the scenes there has been a common foreign and security policy strategy that has been feeding and directing this growing monster.

And, directing the EU's common foreign policy today we find one very intriguing individual, Javier Solana. In fact, one of his titles is actually High Representative of Common Foreign and Security Policy. In other words, Solana was hired by the 15 EU heads to represent them -- to be the first Mr. Europe.

However, High Representative wasn't the only title Solana was given. He also became the Secretary General of the Council where all the EU heads meet, and the Secretary General of the military alliance known as the Western European Union.

And for a students of prophecy, it's the first and the last of Solana's titles that should be of the most concern. Why? Concerning the last title, its because the WEU just happens to be a 10-nation military alliance. You see, the Bible predicts that the end-times revival of the Roman Empire will be under the direction of an alliance of 10 nations and/or kings. And, out of this alliance the Antichrist would appear.

And concerning Solana's first title, its because the Bible tells us God will give the 10 kings and the Antichrist a common purpose. Here's what the Scripture says:

"For God has put it in their (the 10 kings) hearts to execute His purpose by having a common purpose, and by giving their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God should be fulfilled" (Revelation 17:17 New American Standard Bible).

As I said at the beginning, the shadow of a great dragon is once again rising over Europe. And, behind the scenes, there has been an intriguing individual at the wheel of this growing beast.

How well has this first Mr. Europe done so far? Constance Cumbey, the author of the best seller, The Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow, always reminds me that Solana has already accomplished what Hitler failed to do -- control the Balkans. As you may know, Solana's army will soon be taking NATO's place in the Balkans. In other words, Solana will be occupying the Balkans.

Why is this significant? I believe it may be significant for students of prophecy because the Balkans would be a necessary step if the real goal of this dragon is as the prophecies predict -- the Mediterranean region.

And, according to this recent report from the EU observer, it looks like the dragon's next step is already in the works (Read about it here).

The Man Who's Always There

It fascinates me how, when ever there's an international event or crisis, Javier Solana is always somewhere in the middle of it. And yet he somehow manages to keep himself out of the media's spotlight.

For example, last November US president George W. Bush attended the historic NATO Summit in Prague. The reason this meeting held in the capital of the Czech Republic was so important is because at this summit it was decided to go for the so-called "big-bang" enlargement of NATO and invite seven new nations to join the alliance -- Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.

When I saw a photo of this meeting, I wasn't surprised to see president Bush the center of the media's attention. After all, Bush is the leader of the world's last and only super power. However, I was surprised to see who had the honor to sit next to Bush.

On one side of president Bush sat Secretary of State Colin Powell, and on the other side of the president sat -- you guessed it -- Javier Solana.

Think about it: Here we have a very historic meeting of all the leaders of the NATO alliance. And, the person who is given the second seat of honor among these important Western leaders isn't the head of NATO, and isn't even the head of a NATO member state -- it's Javier Solana. Why?

This is what I think: It's because Solana was the one who made NATO's enlargement possible in the first place when he talked Russia into going along with NATO enlargement to the East when he was head of NATO.

In fact, some believe Solana's brilliant diplomacy as the head of NATO may have contributed more to the reshaping of the post Cold War Europe than any other international leader in modern history.

As the EU's foreign policy chief, once again it was Solana's diplomacy that recently kept the Balkans from disintegrating into another costly war and opened the door for EU peace keepers to take NATO's place on the ground (Read about it here).  

Now, once again Solana is in the middle of things. This time it's the growing nuclear crisis in Asia that is being created by the strange little leader of North Korea (Read about it here).

After meeting with officials in Japan and the president of South Korea, it looks like Solana will be sent to North Korea to see if he can do what Washington has so far failed to do -- defuses that ticking mega bomb in Asia.

Will Solana's diplomacy once again do the trick?

It's About Time

People are finally starting to notice. Although they may not yet understand what it means, people are beginning to realize what I've been saying here on FulfilledProphecy.Com for the last year now -- there is something big going on in the European Union.

The shock on their faces said it all. American and NATO leaders where completely blind sided by the recent actions taken by France and Germany (Read about it here). Not only did France and Germany refuse to allow NATO to send assets to protect a fellow NATO member Turkey, these so-called allies actually joined forces with Russia and China in the UN Security Council to oppose America.

Even prior US Secretary of Defense William Cohen wasn't able anymore to paint over this widening crack in the Western alliance. If you recall, it was Cohen, under the Clinton administration, who had once warned if the EU went ahead with its plans to develop its own independent military command structures, NATO would become a relic of the past.

After the EU heads made the decision back in 2000 to do what Cohen had warned them against with the implementation of Assembly Recommendation 666, I had the opportunity to personally ask Cohen if this meant the end of NATO like he said.

His answer startled me. He looked me in the eye and said he didn't think an independent EU military had actually happened. He said he thought it was all for show -- to make the European people think they had their own EU military command structure.

At that moment I realized that even Cohen was falling for the Euro-spin coming out of Brussels. In other words, when Cohen approached the European leaders with the Clinton administration's concerns about the EU developing its own military command structures under Javier Solana in the Council of Ministers, the EU leaders evidently assured Cohen that it was only for show. And, the Clinton administration bought it -- hook, line and sinker.

But, as I said, now even Cohen is finally realizing and admitting something big is going on in the EU -- something that's not good for America. In a recent interview he said he was afraid this recent split in NATO was very serious. He went on to say he believed the real reason for the split was France's desire to forge a new military alliance that, instead of working with America, would compete against America.

So, here we have it. This is what I wrote my book about and what I've been saying on FulfilledProphcy.Com for the past year. Something big is going on in the EU. And, it all started under the French EU presidency and the implementation of Recommendation 666.

Now important people are finally beginning to notice.

It's about time.

Back Under Solana's Wings

The EU's first High Representative of Common Foreign and Security Policy, Javier Solana, suddenly found himself standing in the middle of a great, big brawl. The 15 heads he was hired to represent in common foreign policy began fighting among themselves over the issue of war with Iraq.

As I said before, up to this point things were going well for Solana. The foreign policy course he had set for the EU in the Balkans proved so successful the EU head's were now asking him to turn his diplomatic skills to solving the Israeli - Palestinian conflict.  

That's when it all began coming apart for Solana. When America requested European support for an Iraqi war, the 15 EU heads he represented scattered out from under the wings of his common foreign policy like chickens frightened by a firecracker.

Solana's first reaction was to stay quiet and watch. It didn't take him long, however, to find a safe line to walk on the Iraqi issue, and still end up where he wanted to go. He called the evidence that Secretary of State Colin Powell provided to prove Saddam Hussein was still hiding weapons of mass destruction irrefutable. But, he said the matter was up to the UN Security Council, not Washington, to resolve.

Once again Solana was successful in finding that common ground. But, by now his 15 EU heads were too angry with each other to listen to him. So, realizing the EU's entire common foreign and security policy was at risk, the Greek EU presidency agreed to call for an emergency summit where Solana could present his common ground.  

At the beginning of the summit Solana addressed the 15 heads. Solana presented what he thought were there basic points where they could all agree (Read about it here).  

Solana's first point: Saddam Hussein had to be disarmed.

Second point: The UN, not Washington, should be the one to do it.

Third point: The role of the inspectors is fundamental and should be supported.

After Solana presented his three points to the 15 heads, the emergency summit began. And, I could hardly wait to see what they would decide. Finally a statement was issued (Read it here). And as I expected, the 15 heads agreed to all three of Solana's points. Here's some of the official declaration:

Regarding Solana's first point: "We are determined to deal effectively with the threat of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction."  

Solana's second point: "We are committed to the United Nations remaining at the center of the international order. We recognize that the primary responsibility for dealing with Iraqi disarmament lies with the (U.N.) Security Council."

Solana's third point: "We reiterate our full support for the ongoing work of U.N. inspectors. They must be given the time and resources that the U.N. Security Council believes they need."

The EU heads, however, did manage a point or two of their own. For example, they warned, "However, inspections cannot continue indefinitely in the absence of full Iraqi cooperation." And they added, "The European Union reiterates its firm belief in the need to invigorate the peace process in the Middle East and to resolve the Israeli Palestinian conflict."  

So once again, Solana's diplomacy may have saved the day. With the EU's new common foreign and security policy on the verge of collapse, Solana found a line that all 15 heads could walk, and still end up where he wanted them to be.

They're back under Solana's wings.

Solana's Secret Memo

The World Socialist Web Site claims a German news magazine recently reported about a secret memo from the EU's High Representative, Javier Solana. According to the report, in this memo Solana accuses the US of attempting to us the new eastern European countries to undermine his efforts to create an independent foreign and security policy for the EU (Read about it here).  

Before you trash this information as just more leftist propaganda against conservative America, keep in mind that the largest party in the European Parliament today is made up of socialists -- the Social Democrats. And, many of the EU's top leadership either are, or have been, members -- including Javier Solana and Hans Blix.

Here's my point: If this report about a secret memo is factual, that tells me, unlike the former Clintion administration who blindly made it all possible, the Bush administration understands what's really going on in the EU and is doing what it can to stop it.  

You see, prior to this dispute in the EU over the Iraqi issue, things were going extremely well for Solana. His common foreign and security policy in the Balkans was now paying big dividends for the EU heads and they were asking him to do the same in the Middle East. And, to be the one who settles the Middle East dispute has been his ambition since he negotiated the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership for Peace between the EU and 12 Mediterranean countries back in 1995.  

Since then Solana has been at the forefront pushing the Middle East peace process. He was behind and attended the Sharm-el Cheikh Summit, he was a member of the Mitchell Committee, and today he represents the EU in the Quartet.

Even at the recently held emergency EU summit where the issue was Iraq, Solana managed to squeeze his Mediterranean ambitions into the agenda.  In the summit's final declaration the EU heads added, "The European Union reiterates its firm belief in the need to invigorate the peace process in the Middle East and to resolve the Israeli Palestinian conflict" (Read about it here)

As I've said before, something big is going on in the EU -- something that's not good for either America or Israel. It started when the EU decided to create its own independent foreign and security policy under Javier Solana in the Council of Ministers by implementing Recommendation 666. And, of special interest to students of Bible prophecy, it even included a 10-nation military alliance.

Now, important people are finally beginning to notice. And, if this secret memo by Solana is a reality, than some of these important people who are now noticing may include members of the Bush administration.

Another thing to consider: This secret memo may also explain why recently some of Europe's leaders -- including Solana -- have begun complaining about Washington's foreign policy being directed by religion -- specifically, Bible believing Christianity.

In other words, they may fear the light of God's word is exposing them.

For you folks who have been following this thread, I've had a gut feeling for about a week now, that Solana is bad mouthing the U.S. wherever he goes.  I started to get this feeling when I read that he went to visit South Korea and then on to North Korea.  This man is starting to leave a bad taste in my mouth.  I smell a rat folks.  A dirty rat!

Wouldn't it be just like him to undermine everything the U.S. does?  I can think of two reasons why.

#1 - Solana doesn't want the U.S. to be the ones who finally settle things down in the middle east, so he is trying to create a diversion and discredit Bush, so he can be the man with the plan.

#2 - I can also imagine Solana telling other nations that the dollar is losing ground to the Euro, and to start thinking about switching their currency to the euro, because Europe is also growing very rapidly and will soon be much more powerful economicly than the U.S., and especially after the U.S. finishes paying for this war against terror.

One thing is for sure.  The man that was once so gifted at being able to keep a low profile in the eyes of the world is all of a sudden becoming the man of the hour.  I can picture him taking control and trying to lead the way after the rapture.  He is already known as the best peacemaker in the world, but America stands in his way.  I sure wouldn't want to be one of the foolish virgins who get left behind.  Hmmmmmmm??
