This is sad... Keep our young children in your prayers who attend school everyday. It's becoming more and more acceptable to have sex rather then practice abstinance.

If I caught a teacher allowing my child to "taste a condom" or even hold one for that matter, the national news headline would be "Parent goes balistic on perverted teacher ". This is soooooo sick. If I couldnt do anything about it, my child wouldn't attend this school. I think in good concience homeschooling is going to be the only alternative one day soon.

You're right, Jamie. There is a lot of responsibility on the parents here. Like I would take some sick stuff like this lying down. I'd be at that school, I'd be at the board meeting, I'd be calling every local news station, I'd be on the phone with Jay Sekulow..........why are Christians just laying down and being walked right over??? Because they are allowing it!

i'd be contacting the aclj and then bill oreilly... i'd be filing lawsuits left and right... one for making my kid taste a condom, and another for sexual harrassment when the teacher called her 'sweetie'.

Well, you see it's simple. This isn't new. It's BEEN going on and when you tell people the sick things going on they think you're nuts.

And when Christians like ME stand UP against the admnistration and say, "NO WAY!" ...then they recommend you resign after the year is up and go find another teaching job elsewhere.

Simple.

You either play by their rules or you're out. Real simple.

And you'd be playing right into the sue happy place we've been led in this society. The solution is simple, complain loudly and if nothing gets done pull your kid out of the school, they get funding based on attendance.

steff, i'm very opposed to lawyers getting rich over frivolous lawsuits, and that's a huge problem today. but i don't believe that asking the aclj, a firm that takes on issues important to christians and the protection of our rights, and protecting our children from sexual harrassment by their educators, to be anywhere NEAR the equivalent of suing mcdonald's for having hot coffee... or for serving fattening food... or for suing tobacco companies because you get lung cancer.

in those stupid frivolous lawsuits, people are bringing suits against big money corporations to fatten their own wallets while excusing their responsibility for their own choices.

in a case like THIS, the children have no choice in the matter. they aren't asking to be taught how to put condoms on bananas, or how good they taste, or to have their teacher try to manipulate them into doing something against their will by calling them 'sweetie', or 'honey', or anything of the sort.

i'd sue in a heartbeat, if all other avenues failed... and clearly all other avenues in this story led to a brick wall. sure, we could all just take the kids out of school and homeschool them... and i don't believe there is any obstacle standing in ANY body's way in that regard, because i homeschooled both my daughters for almost two years, while being a single mother and working 70 hours a week. it can be done. but that leaves other children to be unwitting victims, and i think we have a responsibility to protect the youth in this country.

I've said it before and I'm not shutting up ...I'll say it again. I KNOW what's going on behind the scenes that the parents AREN'T seeing.

If anyone asks me, "Well, Miss Goody-Two-Shoes, what did you do to change the situation?" I'll tell you, shall I?

I went right up to those in authority, sucked up all the strength I had in me and said, "I'm not teaching lies in school, I'm not promoting sexual immorality (especially to blind children, who I was teaching), I'm not promoting a New Age agenda or doing anything that I know I will be held accountable before God for someday!"

There are consequences for doing what is right: You lose your contract next year.

The benefit: God gets you a much better one next school year.

I had the COMPLETE support of the student's parents. The only problem is the NEA and administration. I really wish people understood that parents are usually not the problem. It's the 'system' that's the problem.

you're right cats, it IS the system. and pulling one's own kids out of school will not stop the atrocities that are occurring to other children.

when we were kids, our parents trusted the teachers, the system, to teach truth and integrity, responsibility and morals, to our children. because of that, we have grown up expecting the teachers today to be as upstanding as the ones who taught us, and that's SO not the case! not in today's world.
