Guest
I hate singing the same chorus 150 times, over and over, like a mantra. We used to call this "7-11" music, where you sing the same seven words eleven times. I know what you mean . . . just hadn't heard it called that in awhile! Guest
Now days it seems like most musicians and singers are worship entertaining. I understand where you are coming from. I started collecting some older albums from the late 70's-80's that I once had. The songs were completely different back then. The stuff now, I don't care for it all that much, especially when you hear the same songs in church as on the radio.

It has been proven that if you repeat the same phrase enough times, you believe them. It is almost like self hypnosis.

I have been off worship music for a while now. I really do get that concert feeling when I listen to it. Like it was designed to be entertaining to me and not worship for Him. The whole idea of worship has (IMHO) been narrowed by the church into meaning "singing a song". As the aussies would say (and understand)... Not happy Jan! I thought I was the odd man out here. For the past year or two, I have not listened to any new Christian songs. Why? Because I can't tell them apart from the other radio stations. I miss the old music also. I also have found a new liking for a cappella. A lot of it, in how it is constructed or created, is just boring to my taste. Hate to say it.... The message is good, but it bores me. Totally Understand. Totally Agree. Wow! It's nice to konw I'm not alone. Edited December 15, 2009 by nebula

Don't let this world mislead you. don't you ever go astray. Trust in God's word and believe it. it'll never pass away. We'll see him in his glory riding on the clouds of joy Greeting us with open arms and peacefull ever more I know that everything is gonna be alright, he's coming back like he said he would. It's gonna be alright he's coming back for the true and good. now when he sky is darkened, there will be no moon light( i think that's what he's saying in the song) we'll know the time has finally come to change the wrong to right so if you only searching, trying to find the bottom line just give your loving life to God, he'll give you peace of mind. I know that everything is gonna be alright, he's coming back like he said he would. It's gonna be alright he's coming back for the true and good. (repeat) I wanna be ready. got to be ready i want to be ready. got to be ready for the peace, love, and happiness, he's coming back like he said he would for the peace, love and happiness he's coming back, for the true and good we know his life is given, and we know he is it.(i think that's what he's saying in the song) there is no one better if you really need a friend so don't you ever worry cause he gave the guarantee that he'll return to take us home and fulfill the prophecy i know that everything is gonna be alright he's coming back like he said he would get ready for the peace love and happiness he's coming back just like he said he would the video i saw was made in 1987 this might be going against the secular beliefs.... doctrine....stuff. but it's a good easy listening song to listen to. nice beat, vocal is very good because it's al green. and i may have got a few lyrics wrong. i really havn't been able to check out the new music since 04. this isn't really a worship song....but i "He said Peace"by the happy goodmans is a nice song to listen to. not sure when that was made. Any good worship leader can change a song to have it played the way they want it to be played. Right now, I really enjoy listening to Todd Agnew. He has some good worship songs and songs that are just fun to listen to with a good message. Well, I'm not saying there are not any good worship songs coming out . . . but the general vein is driving me nuts. Take "Revelation Song" by - what's her name? (Carrie Cobe or something like that?) Love that song! ut on the radio they play Phillips, Craig, and Dean's version - which is basically the same musical arrangement as the original release but with their vocals. Or how about Matt Redman's songs? On the radio I hear every version recorded of his songs except for his recordings. What is it with their being a few songwriters and tons of singers of the exact same songs over and over? But again, there is just something missing with the new stuff, even with the ones I have even some liking for.

These minor chords sound like a funeral dirge to me. Yeah, me too. Shame, because I don't like songs from musicians I would otherwise like (i.e. David Crowder - he has some wonderful songs, but I can only listen to so much becuase of those minor keys.)
