We have beautiful mountains, and a wonderful lake, with plenty of rivers for fishing. Also lots of ski resorts within driving distance, 50-100 miles away. God made our part of the state absolutely magnificent. We have all sorts of restaurants, shopping centers, and fun events throughout the year. Our neighborhood is close to the high school and fairgrounds but we have so many trees that a lot of people don't realize we are here, so our neighborhood is pretty quiet. stilllearnin'

It is a hot and very dry place. It is well known for peanuts. There is not always much to look at depending on which town you live in within the state. Interesting question. Guest The Chief
I live in Four Oaks, North Carolina (halfway between Raleigh and the Coast.) Our home is sited on a state historical site, and we are located about 9 miles north of Spivey's Corner, which is known as the "Hog Callin' Capital of the World". North Carolina is quite diverse, with the Smokey Mountains to the West and the Outer Banks to the East. We are home to the Largest Army base in the United States (Fort Bragg) as well as a multitude of historical and natural attractions. We were once known as "The Good Roads State" but something must have happened along the "road," lol as it seems that the two major interstates (I-95 and I-40) are always setting up work zones (question on the driver's licensing exam: "When will the highway work on I-40 and I-440 be completed?" Correct answer: "Not in your lifetime." ). It's a great place to live and work...
