I don't know how many Cessationist I know who are not even aware that they operate in some of the gifts. Like hearing the voice of God.

Maybe some Cessationists don't necessarily believe that all gifts have passed away.

Maybe they only believe that some gifts have.

Steve,

Maybe "they" do. But to use their famous line. "Where is that in the bible?" But you couldn't tell me that anwser. Why you aren't even familiar with the term "Cessationist" or "being Spirit-filled", much less knowledgeable about their theology or ours.

HI SCUDBUDDY

I don't know what kind of testimony you are asking for.

But here is one which I'd like to share:

My in-laws live in another country over seas.

I lived over there once - and well, you know they kind of stepped on my toes, particulalry, my mother in law and my grandmother in law.

When we moved I left with a lot of hurt in my heart. :t2:

Anyway we are here in Canada - and we were beginning to be involved with a charismatic church -

In my devotional life I felt called to pray for my Grandmother-in- law, as she was not saved.

So on a regular basis I would bring her to the Lord.

Then one day I felt the Lord speaking in my heart; He asked me this question

"Do you love her?"

I said to the Lord "Love her? What does that have to do with it? I am praying for her salvation. Isn't that enough? "

He said "Yes I know, but do you love her?"

"Well Lord " I said, "Look there's bit of history here"

He said "Do you love her?"

I said " O.k. I get it. YOU want me to love her.

Well I can't on my own,Lord. But I will try if You will place the love in my heart.'

So I began to pray asking the Lord to place love in my heart for my Grandmother-inlaw.

Over time I found myself talking and thinking about her with a caring feeling in my heart.

I began to feel free.

Then in my devotions, the Lord came to me again and asked me

"Did you forgive her?"

I gulped. "Look Lord", I said. "You're asking a bit too much. O.k.

Here I was praying for this woman's salvation and You came and got me to love her and now yYou are asking me if I have forgiven her."

He asked "Did you forgive her?"

I said, " I know you want me to forgive her. I can only if You place the forgiveness in my heart."

So I began to pray that the Lord would give me a forgiving heart towards my grandmother-in - law.

This occurred over several months.

Unbeknowst to me and my husband ( because he was busy and hadn't called them) my grandmother during this time had a heart attack.

As a result of the attack she was bedridden.

She would often wake up early in the morning @ 3 a.m.

About the time the Lord asked me to 'love her' - she was feeling led to listen to the radio early at 3 a.m. and found a Christian Station.

She would listen to the Gospel message sent over that station every morning.

BY the time I was led by the Lord to pray for 'forgiveness', she was starting to believe in her heart. :help:

It was close to the summer by this time and I felt led by the Lord that we should fly to visit my husbands family. I told him we have to go to _______ and visit your family. In spite of t he fact that we had no money we went.

We were there with his family a few days and my husband had the privilege of leading his grandmother to the Lord on late evening. She was all ready - :help:

As we rejoiced over that, as small voice rose up in me nagging at me reminding me that we were out $5000 because of the trip - and the VISA bill would have to be payed. I guess I whined and grumbled a bit before the Lord @ that reminding Him of the 'great sacrifices I had made for thistrip, etc etc."

(you know how self righteous we can be) :x:

On our way back to Canada, actually on our way to the airport my husband turned to me and said

"OH I forgot to tell you.

My mom found my old bankbook in one of the chest drawers. So she gave it to me and guess what? We have a little over $5000 Canadian . I pulled the money out of the back and will exchange it in Canada. That will cover the cost of the trip." :t2:

The Lord is faithful, when we are obedient.

Praise the Lord

Blessings -Sachi.

Wow Sachi...awesome story! God is FAITHFUL! Bless you and thank you for sharing your FAITH!

Scud... Trust & Obey! It is that simple, isn't it? I often feel like Paul when he wrote, "What a wretched man I am!" [Romans 7:24] Then in my mind I hear the words of the song Trust & Obey... for there is no other way! ... and I am reminded that those who "live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires." [Romans 8:5]

Reading these testimonies is uplifting and I am encouraged by them.

Be Blessed saints,

Wayne

Perhaps.

Could you consider the possibility that I'm not alone in this?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
