It's All Your Money: Foreign Aid to Muslim/Arab nations

While America's standing in the Middle East couldn't get much lower, you wouldn't know it looking at the U.S. foreign aid budget. Of proposed U.S. assistance for 2012, almost two-thirds is earmarked for Muslim nations and one-third goes to Arab countries.

Yet, despite those billions in aid, opinion polls show most Arab citizens still have an unfavorable view of America and most Muslim nations routinely vote against U.S. interests in the United Nations.

"If we are giving money to countries consistently voting against our interest, we ought to cut them off," says Congressman Steve Chabot (R-OH) who sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. "But Congress is going to need to get some backbone here because it consistently gives Presidents the ability to waive the cutoff of that money."

Israel is our strongest ally,bar none, and returns most of that aid into the U.S. economy to buy our weapons. Then of course you have the favor of God thing, you know by helping and supporting Israel. The Arab countries give us American flag burning, Bin Laden and non-stop jihad. Is that unentangled enough for you?

Well for one thing, Israel returns over half of the foreign aid they receive from us in the form of military equipment sales. There are American companies that have contracts to supply Israel with this equipment. The contracts mean jobs for American citizens. Israel essentially is a positive force in our economy for that reason.

Secondly, Israel is world leader in medical science and many US doctors have been trained in very advanced and cutting edge medical procedures that have saved American lives. Israel leads the world when it comes to organ transplant procedures and technology.

The United States benefits from many of the technological advancements made in Israel.

It's obvious we get far more benefit from the money we give to Israel than the money we give to anyone else. The simple point is, Israel is our ally. While several of the Middle Eastern nations we give money to also claim to be our allies, they also harbor terrorists, promote radical Islamic views, and do nothing at all to curb the lies being fostered by these radicals. In fact, it is often their state run media that push the lies both about Israel and the US. Honestly, I don't remember seeing any Israelis celebrating in the streets on 9/11. Yet that was widespread in the Arab nations, even those who are supposed to be our allies. It's not that difficult to understand why many of us find it repulsive that we continue to give money to nations who would gladly bury a knife in our back if given half a chance.
