You absolutely may keep my informtion in a file. No quarrell from me!

You are correct in that everybody needs to know about Jesus and salvation through Him. Tell them every chance you get.

John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 3: 36

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%203&version=KJV

This last verse tells you that until you became saved, you were already condemned by God and would suffer His wrath. This

is the case with each of us.

Thank you for helping me understand this.

So, as I understand it, the law shows me all the things that are sin. Since God knows that sin isn't good for me, he lets me know by his law what sin is. So, Jesus, being absolutely perfect, died a horrific death, took my sin upon himself. This sacrifice is what makes it possible for people like me who don't deserve God to belong to him and go to Heaven to be with him. This also means that I can live here on earth with God as my dad... which would be impossible to do under the law since I am incapable of keeping it (obviously). If I'm over-thinking this, please let me know- I don't want to take God lightly.

Since I have been re-born (this is what the pastor called it), I no longer live under the accusation of the law? Law to me means that, if I break it, I am subject to the penalties attached to that law. God's grace says that the penalty was paid by Jesus and I am therefore subject to God's grace. Do I understand this correctly? If I am mistaken, please help me understand.

First, I'm very happy that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Second, I think that you have a wonderful understanding as you've written above. There were over 600 laws under the Old Covenant, and no man or woman was ever able to keep them all. This is one main reason why Jesus Christ freely gave His Life on the Cross for us. As Christians, we are now purchased possessions belonging to Christ, and this is something we should give thanks for every day. We have no righteousness of our own, but God The Father now sees us in and through Jesus Christ. Obviously, we should love God enough to try our best to live in a way that is pleasing to Him, but we all fall short and need forgiveness. The Blood of Jesus Christ at the Cross is more than sufficient to forgive the sins of every man and woman who will accept Him as Lord and Saviour. It must be a Gift from God because not one of us deserves or can earn Salvation.

Romans 8:1-2 (KJV) 1 [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

All of us at one time had a death sentence hanging over us, and we were under the bondage of sin. Jesus Christ freed us, and we are no longer slaves to sin.

Romans 3:19-28 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

As Christians, we have peace with God and His Favor that we could never earn. We have God's Grace, and it is all-sufficient.

Romans 5:1-21 Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; 2 through whom also we have had our access by faith into this grace wherein we stand; and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only so, but we also rejoice in our tribulations: knowing that tribulation worketh stedfastness; 4 and stedfastness, approvedness; and approvedness, hope: 5 and hope putteth not to shame; because the love of God hath been shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Spirit which was given unto us. 6 For while we were yet weak, in due season Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: for peradventure for the good man some one would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth his own love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from the wrath of God through him. 10 For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life; 11 and not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. 12 Therefore, as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin; and so death passed unto all men, for that all sinned: - 13 for until the law sin was in the world; but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the likeness of Adam's transgression, who is a figure of him that was to come. 15 But not as the trespass, so also is the free gift. For if by the trespass of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God, and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound unto the many. 16 And not as through one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment came of one unto condemnation, but the free gift came of many trespasses unto justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one; much more shall they that receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, even Jesus Christ. 18 So then as through one trespass the judgment came unto all men to condemnation; even so through one act of righteousness the free gift came unto all men to justification of life. 19 For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one shall the many be made righteous. 20 And the law came in besides, that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace did abound more exceedingly: 21 that, as sin reigned in death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

So many way back then felt that the law was some sort of something that brought one to salvation yet we know from Abraham that is not true. Abraham even though he kept Gods commandments, statues and judgments he walked with God in faith, it was faith, that strong trust he had in Gods and His word, that made him righteous in Gods eyes. We can try and follow every single command given to us but not one bit of it can do a thing for you to gain salvation. Being under the law means that we are trying to work out our salvation apart from Him, when it is a free gift given to us. Its not that we do not have to obey Him, we do He tells us often enough to keep His commandments yet that is not what brings His free gift of salvation.

Gods laws are there to show us what sin is, and through His Spirit He writes them on our hearts so we can walk upright before Him. Its a process, a life long one at that! none of us will ever be perfected this side of His return, He was the only person to ever walk correctly and fully in His Torah which gives us the perfect example to follow. (torah means instructions just so ya know) The very best thing is that He called out for you and you heard Him! Theres a diverse group of really good people here that are more than willing to answer any and all question you need to ask!

Yes He took that penalty of death from you/us and put it upon Himself, by taking the death sentence off our heads we can obtain eternal life through Him. We still sin, none of us perfect, we still walk in His instructions and obey Him but by His grace that covers us we are forgiven, we learn how to please Him and serve Him as He calls us to do. Grace is not a license to sin, not an avenue given to where we can go and do what we want because He will forgive us, that is what George is saying when he talks about abusing Gods grace. Grace is unmerited favor something none of us deserve but He gives it to us anyway, what an awesome God huh! When we come to accept Him we learn, some of us learn more slowly than others I know I do!, to let Him rule our hearts, minds and He changes us, we are incapable of doing what is right in His sight without the guideance of His Spirit. Theres still a 'rule book' and as we grow in knowledge and understandings of Him His Spirit writes those upon our hearts, He never puts more on us than we are able to handle and understand. You already have a nice grasp of what He has done for us on that cross so long ago and continue to ask, pray and read His word as He guides you in all His ways.

Mizz

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
