What do you think? Do you think more people would read the New Testament if it were titled: "The Adventures of Jesus and friends."?

Guest shiloh357
No, I dont think so. In fact, I think it would be seen by at least some people as insult to their intelligence.
Guest Butero
Picked this up on FB. What do you think? Do you think more people would read the New Testament if it were titled: "The Adventures of Jesus and friends."? I don't think more people would read it. I also agree with OneLight that it makes the Bible appear to be a work of fiction. We call this portion of the Bible the New Testament to indicate that this is more than a work of literature. It is God's covenant with his people. I would look at such a change as another attack on the innerancy of scripture.

Shed a little light on the darkness. My first reaction to Adventures of Jesus and Friends was a good lol, but that would def make a good kid's book... Of course - you guys don't know the person who posted this. He's got the most warped sense of humor and reality and perspectives and . . . . But he is very solid in the faith. Sometimes, I think, we do need to read the Bible from the perspective of living an adventure rather than philosophying and theologizing.

It should be read as a whole book after all its the story of how God called a rag tag idol worshipping people out of all that to become His called out separated ones. Its one continuous story or at least I see it that way so I wouldn't want to change it to anything but His Word and well I guess we can keep the 'OT, NT' title since everyone knows it that way.
