Women Pastors

I have been studying this latly. There are many women Pastors in the church these days. Is it ok? Or is it plain disobedience?

God used Paul to establish the church. Do we still go by this? Or has it changed?

1 Tim 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

1 Timothy 3:1 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

This is another subject that I want to believe that it's ok because there are so many in the body that says it's ok.

Is this scripture for today? If not, please tell me when it changed and who did God tell to change this practice.

Please, let us not argue but talk about this in love. I just want to know the truth!!

I looked for key verses like "choose for yourselves" and "we have no custom" but I could not find any.

Your info on this subject would be greatly valued by me.

I don't believe women are to be in a leadership position such as being a Minister,or Pastor. I believe women can teach classes, etc, but not preaching from the pulpit. Our Bibles are quite clear on the qualifications one must have to be a Pastor.

They should be in women's ministries, sunday school classes, etc. Women are to teach other women how to love their husband, love their children, and care for their homes, etc.

A woman is to complement the mans role who preaches by showing the love of God through her actions and ministerings to others. She teaches by her example.

Does a woman belong in the pulpit? Nope not at all.

Hey Bob, the verse that I put up in the original post says Bishop. What I mean is Bishop or Overseer. Someone who is in the authority over a local body.

I have been working on hitting my one hundred posts so I can type on this subject. Yeah! I did it.

Now to the subject at hand. If the men whom God had called to do this work would actually step up and do it then God wouldn't have to raise up women. There are many times in the bible where the Lord used a woman to do His work because there was not a man strong enough or brave enough or even willing to do it. JMO.

I believe that the Lord is getting His word out because He is coming soon and is looking for a willing vessel.

I guess the question I really have here is the Great Commission.

Jesus said -

Matthew 28:18-20

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

I guess I fail to see where this is exclusive to males. Jesus gave this order to every believer....man and woman alike. If we tell a woman she can't hold some possition ( man ordained or God ? ) are we not putting a lid on the Great Commission ?

Luke 10:2

2 He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.

This is what it's all about....winning souls for Jesus. Why put a lid ( at any level ) on it when there's so much work to do and so few to do it ?
