Hello All,

I'll get right to the point...I have recently started going back to church after a very long time away from it.Now for the biggie...I need help over coming my "hang up" concerning church. I was molested from age 6 to age 12 by a "so called preacher" and it almost always happened in the church or on church grounds. I have developed a very bad phobia as far as churches go. It is very hard for me to look at a preacher and not think he is doing the same to some other poor child. Of course alot more is involved but I have kept it short and to the point. I love God and I do know Jesus died for me,but my huge ? is how do I over come what I went through. Any scriptures I can fall back on to help me???? Please any advise will be welcome.

Love in Christ,

Hi WYNN, first let me say Welcome to Worthy. It is nice to have you here. <_<

Now to try and help you with your problem. I want to ask you, have you forgiven the person that molested you? The reason I ask is because if we harbor unforgiveness in our heart towards people it binds us up and we cannot be free. We will live in anger and resentment and fear. I know this from personal experience. Once you forgive someone, you can move forward in peace.

If you would feel more comfortable talking about this in a PM, you can do that too!

God Bless,

Debbie

Ty for the reply. To answer your ? it is yes(recently at that) it took me a very long time to come to terms with it. I still have major problems emotionally, but I pray daily and have put it in God's mighty hands. I guess it will take time to fully get over my "hang ups",but with God's help and prayers from friends I believe I will over come. :o

Well, that is awesome that you have been able to forgive. :o

Philippians 4:13 says, I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.

You can do it sister, with the Lord's help! I will be in prayer for you about this!

God Bless, :o

 I'm not good at advice but here are some scriptures that might be helpful (or hopeful :o )

Psalm 27:1

Isaiah 41:10

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Habakkuk 3:19

The Lord God is my strength, and He will make my feet like hinds' feet, and He will make me to walk upon high places.

Romans 8:37

In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.

Proverbs 3:26

For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

2 Corinthians 7:16

I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in You in all things.

Ephesians 3:12

In Whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of Him

Isaiah 40:31

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Psalm 91:4

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

I would like to add one more verse:

Psalm 55:22 Cast your cares on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.

Dear WYNN , I pray that your, Heavenly Father, Through The Holly Spirit, will lead you to the root of your family problem. That you may apply spiritual axe to destroy it. And receive all blessings and deliverance, Our Gracious Father in store for you. So your children and grand children and many generations to come will call you, BLESSED. May the spirit of the LORD rest upon you the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. And will make you of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD. Blessings to you. May my Lord, Jesus Christ deliver your family from every bondage.

Jud1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
