Today, typical I went to church, came home, nothing special, nothing JOYOUS, well for me it was, always is, heres a lil story that is a lil astonishing to me,

Every summer, me and my youth group go to West Virginia for a huge get together of Christians to hear some of the most famous preachers preach, well last year I heard a man of the name Dr. Larry Brown preach a serman about Joy,

I remember him yelling at the top of his lungs, and getting everyone laughing , cause almost every other word was him just screaming, nothing just WOOOHOOOIE just cause hes got that JOY, sitting in church today and watching people to the normal stuff, sit there and just jot down notes, nothing special, I almost just screamed out WOOOOHOOOOIE just because I missed everyone having that, everyone having that JOY that just sticks out and doesnt go away,

*sigh*

Does this mean that I am the only one left with this overwhellming glorious Joy from our trip?.. I dont know, but I see alot of people today going around and acting 1/2 Christian, or just being a stick out.. (someone that will get ontop of the lunch tables and pray) I dont know, its just saddend me, and I am blessed to of found this place, where I dont believe there as many 1/2 Christans or Stick outs..

*sigh*

I kind of am looking for someone to really be able to help me get that "Joy" back into place in my churches lives.. I dont know how.. myself.. but am praying, and would appreicate the prayers.. I love the Lord, God Bless everyone..

I'm not jumping up and saying "woooohoie" lol....but for me, if it wasn't for Christ's Joy in my life, I don't think I'd be here right now....or anywhere else for that matter.

It's His Strength and His Joy that is the only thing keeping me going right now, otherwise I would have quit long ago.

I can feel it at times in worthy chat when someone comes in seeking Him or even when they come in not seeking Him. Something takes over and I say and do what I'm led to say and do regardless of how I was feeling at the time and my entire outlook is completely altered at that moment as if I'm breathing fresh air after nearly suffocating.

You're right though Jen, we should feel that Joy all the time and not just some of the time. It doesn't make someone a half Christian because they don't feel this all the time...but it can cause them to forget why they are a Christian and what they have to be thankful for.

When His Spirit or Breath of Life is not at the center of my focus, I start turning blue...spiritually....and I think that becomes outwardly evident in people as they get distracted by daily routines.

I think catsmeow is on to something. Perhaps the reason it's driving you insane is because the Holy Spirit wants you to say something about it to others.

Just like when the Holy Spirit drives me into a passionate frenzy when it comes to debating God's existence with non-believers.

and this Joy is just the fact that "We know that God is working through us" that should be enough to make us scream and holler ridiculous things at the top of our lungs, just because WE GOT THE JOY JOY JOY JOY DOWN IN OUR HEARTS, DOWN IN OUR HEARTS DOWN IN OUR HEARTS, AND IF THE DEVIL DOESNT LIKE IT HE CAN SIT ON A TACK*OUCH* SIT ON A TACK TO STAY, WE GOT THE JOY JOY JOY JOY DOWN ON OUR HEARTS DOWN IN OUR HEARTS DOWN IN OUR HEARTS DOWN IN OUR HEARTS AND IF THE DEVIL DOESNT LIKE IT HE CAN SIT ON A TACK*OUCH* SIT ON A TACK TO STAY!

Hey Jen- I know exactly how you feel. My membership currently resides with a Baptist church- this church, like all but one Baptist church I've ever been to, is DEAD. The preacher preaches on things people want to hear, not what they need to hear. You can look around and see the joy on peoples faces (please sense the sarcasm here :) ) There are no hands raised, no clapping along or dancing- no joy. There are only a handful of people in that church that are on FIRE. It's extremely discouraging.

Then, on the opposite side of the spectrum, I attend a church 1 1/2 hours away on days I don't have to work. It's incredible! The worship service is exhilarating, the sermon is bold and truthful and you can see the joy on the people's faces. Can you guess which one I prefer? Unfortunately, with my job, I'm not able to go there as much as I can.

Pray about your church- especially pray for the leaders. Pray about where you need to be- maybe God is leading you to another church home? You should go to a church that meets your needs on every level- one that is challenging and fun, not one that is boring and complacent. And believe me when I say, this is for my own edification as well, since it's something I've been struggling with for a while. God will give you the answer you need- He's GOOD like that :il:

I'll be praying for you sis- keep us updated, ok? God Bless

Love in Him-

Shannon

I did exactilly what everyone was telling me to do, I called up my youth pastor about this yesterday, and his reasoning, was we got used to being back at home, and he told me that if it bothers me so much as a member of the youth group to just sit there and watch everyone else be so lame and boring, that I should just jump up and do something that is unexpected, like just a shout after something I stand for or agree with, he said more needs to be done than just that.. I gotta do some talking around and mingling with the rest of our group, to get everyone realizeing, what has happend to us,

Jen

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
