There is a verse in Psalm 91 that says,

'Because he has set his love upon Me.....'

How do I set my love upon the Lord?

What does 'set his love' mean?

This speaks of 'having a desire' for one. It is a translation from a single Hebrew word. For one to set their love upon the lord would be for them to long for or desire to know and to see him, to have only him as their choice.

To love the Lord you must know him, to know him you must read and meditate on his word and see how good he is.

One must spend time with him in prayer, you pray then listen for his still small voice.

One shows love for the Lord by obeying him, by obeying what he says, keeping his commandments.

We love God because he first loved us.

You deserve many help here, but I feel that I am having difficulty thinking because I just woke up from a sleep.

2 Cor 5:14-15

14 For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

NKJV

The one who gives of themself to others (being those who in no way can return what you give them) ... Gerda not only will you allow those you do this for to see Jesus in you but you will experience His Warmth and Love flow from you to them... be careful for it is the most addictive experience I have ever encountered! There is no form of teaching more profound than to sense God's Person within working toward that which is before you and giving you understanding of that which is not seen as though it were... Love, Steven

The Hebrew reads "that in•me he-is-attached". This is referring to "set his love". When we set our love it is from the heart as if we are attached.

This is interesting, I was just listening to a song called We Set Our Hearts and the song is based on Psalms 91.

Here are the lyrics:

Buried with Him who rose again we will live dead to sin

There’s no life besides You

This world fades but Your glory remains

We set our hearts on the things of heaven

Turning away from darkness we look to the Son

We set our minds on the things that are above

Where Christ is seated reigning in power and love

Found in Him who is the light we will shine

Darkness flees at Your sight

But we will see Your glory

We died our lives now hid with Him

In Christ alone we live, we rise with Him

"We should set our hearts on the things of heaven." Amen!

Like when Psalms 91 says he hath set his love upon me...

Psalms 91:14-16

14) Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15) He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16) With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

I think it also means what is said in Colossians 3, to set your affection on things above...

Colossians 3:1-4

1) If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2) Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

3) For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4) When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Set your affection on the things of God, on things above to do what's pleasing to the Lord. "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above." But don't set our affections on things on the earth or the lusts of the flesh. "For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God."
