Thanks believer, a part of me so grateful that all that happened as I really did need to experience this and that I really did need to change my ways.

I think the fundamental issue is that my family is very much so multi faith and predominately agnostic. With that quite a few of my friends are too so I have a huge range of views and mannerisms that come with that. I have this feeling that I have touched on to something brilliant and that I know I cant go back. Its just a case of me now needing to lower my guard and allow myself to be lead on this journey.

thanks everyone for the reassurance, Much appreciated :)

Being fairly new is tough. Especially if you don't have a father in the faith to guide you through the process of growth to maturity. In our day and age we are lucky enough to see the gospel preached, much less see someone preach the gospel and follow up as a spiritual father to their new born child. Desire the sincere milk of the word and seek to exercise yourself unto godliness and your senses to good and evil. Before you know it the years will have melted away, your love for God will be a raging inferno, you will find the grace to go through new challenges and ultimately, you won't regret a thing.

In Jesus Name,

Gary

Hi there,

Sounds like you've been though quite alot in a short period of time. Sometimes, when God moves, he does so swiftly and in my instance, kinda feels like he hits ya with a load of bricks. When the time is right, (his time, not yours) God will put you right where he wants you. I don't say that lightly. I was unemployed for over a year! I was really stressed and I lost everything. To the point of having to depend completely on God to supply even my most basic needs. But, when God says he will take care of you and that he will provide for you, he really, really means it! Took me almost that whole year to understand that (slow learner I guess).

Another painful and not always pleasant lesson God taught me is that sometimes the people in our lives are there for good reason and some are there that cause more harm than good. I used to have a tendancy to allow the wrong types of folks to enter my life. God had to take me though a season in my life where he taught me to be more selective in who I allow to become close to me in my life and why it is so important to use discresernment. It's not easy to let people go who have been a part of your life. But in order to fully become the brand new person God wants you to be, I've learned sometimes you have to let go of the old.

Changes in our life, especially a lot of them in short time frames, are scary. They leave us feeling like Peter when he stepped out of the boat onto the stormy sea. They can shake our faith. Crack our confidance, and make us want to run for what is familiar and comforting. If we are new to having a relationship with Jesus, then he is the unknown in our life and instead of running to him, we run back to what we know. Sometimes, its the very thing God is trying to get us to let go of.

Each day, God is speaking to your heart. He is opening your eyes (spiritually) to the things around you. The Holy Spirit is causing you to see the things in your life that have kept you seperate from God. He is helping you to clean house. Listen to HIM, he will direct your path and HE will give you wisdom. He is transforming you into the being he desires you to be. It's a remarkable journey. One each and every one of us have to travel. But we are never alone! He is always right there next to us, waiting for us to talk to him. To seek his input. To ask his advice. To ask the questions he is wanting to answer for us.

I can not wait to hear what God does for you next!!

thanks ladyhrtlovesu - I think essentially Im the same as you. Its been a year i've been unemployed too. The problem is that this time so so much as happened in such a short space of time that its almost like I have been caught up in a whirlwind (while ill) and now the rosy tinted glasses have been removed and im having to rebuild my life.

You are so right about your comment and how its so important that you are selective about who you allow into your life. I had a quiet Good Friday and I was just sitting there reading the gospel of Matthew (my personal favorite!) with a great big tea pot of tea and as I was let say just about to sit myself down and my mobile kept buzzing and it was a few friends who were planning the usual pub crawl on a Friday night (Im 30 and these are the old friend from university who cant let that student life go!) who were sending out texts hunting for people to tag along and for the first time it just prompted me to get on my phone and start sifting through all the old friends that I have grown out of and remove them. As for being a slow learner, I think I am one too it feels as though my life has been forced on hold as there is this grand lesson that I need to learn and I just dont see it yet!

Thanks for all the replies I really appreciate it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
