Essentials -vs- non-essentials of the Christian Faith

The phrase "In Essentials, Unity; in Non-essentials, Liberty; in All Things, Charity," is centuries old and its origin is in question. A good question to ponder is "Can Christian agree on what essentials are?"

Lee Strobel in his book "The Case For Christ" went to different Christian sects to find the essentials and C. S. Lewis in his book "Mere Christianity" brought up similar points.

The quote on essentials is the Moravian Motto. I agree that we need to distinguish essential, salvific truth from peripheral doctrinal debates.

What is considered non-essential in the Word of God?

And what about Triune God? A made up word?

We are told to believe that Jesus is the son of God, Not Jesus is just God His own father.

Joh 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

Acts 8:37.................

How is Triune essential, when it's a made up word, and scripture says to think different? If one thinks Jesus is the Actual son of

God, does that change their destination?

We believe Jesus was raised from the dead, His bones not found in a box.

We are told to believe Jesus is actually Lord, and being Lord we conduct our life as he is Lord.

We believe the Blood washed away all sin. We have forgiveness though the Lord Jesus.

We are told that Jesus destroyed the Works of the devil, the one that came to kill, steal and destroy. Peter said no other name was given to men by which they may be healed.

What is considered Non-essential?

Should not each body conduct their church service be led by the Holy Spirit? Do ministers even consider it?

The early Church understood that God is three persons of One Essence. The Father is God, the Son is God, the Spirit is God. The Son and the Spirit proceed forth from the Father. They are each God, Thomas even called Jesus God when he touched the wound in his side.

Non-essentials? What day to meet. Where to meet. The ritual of service. Style of Baptism. Things which do not affect salvation.
