Hello again friends I have a question for you all about false prophets. There have been times when a preacher comes on T.V.

or the internet and there message is go good it sucks me in. I feel like there being moved by the Holy Spirit and they

motivated me for weeks. Then my discerning spirit kicks in and they do something that is very questionable. Not mentioning

any names but by question is, how does this effect me? Can I get a good message from a false prophet?

in Luke 9:49 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he

followeth not with us.

then in Luke 9:50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid [him] not: for he that is not against us is for us.

How do we really know who is for us? I know we are to test the spirits but when it comes back that they are a fraud how

does everything I just learned from them now hold up?

Then I start to think if one of these false prophets turn even 1 person to Jesus and they grow in faith they themselves

will see they are false prophets, isn't that a good thing? Truth is some of these guys turn thousands of people to Jesus.

Anyway what I am asking is, if the message is pure but the person is false, is it bad to continue to listen to them?

Sometimes people say the right things but have bad intentions or do so for the wrong reasons.

Sometimes people say incorrect things but do so with good intentions.

Having said that I think you CAN get a good message from someone who is a "false prophet" or has ulterior motives, you just need to be very cautious & discerning regarding what you believe and what you don't. For example (and this happens a lot) I'll read or watch a video/article where someone makes some very interesting points, but then draws conclusions that I don't think are logically founded.

When it comes to people in general you'll run into a mix of information as well as misinformation, sometimes intentionally, sometimes not :)

I guess if I'm pointing at a blue house calling it blue but stealing your wallet in the process doesn't change the fact that the house is still blue lol Thanks

Keep your eyes on Jesus, not on man.

None of us are perfect. David's sinful deeds didn't invalidate every Psalm he ever wrote or continued to write.

Make sense?

If you know the person is a false prophet, why would you want to continue to feed from their words?

Apple seeds contain a small amount of cyanide. Eating a tiny portion is pretty much harmless, but if you continue to ingest those seeds they will eventually kill you.

This is quite timely for me in a way - it follows on from a conversation my wife and I were having a couple of days ago.

I became a Christian at university. I went to many evangelistic events at the University and also started going to a large Baptist church with an internationally renowned preacher as its minister who was widely respect in the Evangelical world as one of the best preacher of his generation and often spoke at Christian Union meetings. He was very influential in my early Christian life and he was the minister who baptised me.

About six years after I left University he suddenly resigned from his ministry (and the different Evangelical bodies he was associated with): it was announced he had left his wife and had moved in with another man. It was in the national news in this country. He is now a key proponent of the gay evangelical christian movement (if that is a contradiction in terms).

I was devastated. And in a way it still has a big impact on me. I still have some of his books; I can remember reading them, bible open in the other hand, making notes, learning and praying as a young Christian. But what now? Is he a false prophet or teacher? Clearly I would not agree with his current stance on homosexuality. What about the rest of his teachings? Ironically I can even remember him preaching against homosexuality in one of his sermons - I can even remember where I was in the church - front row of the balcony in the middle block of seats - slightly to the right of this block (it's funny what you remember).

It was devastating for the evangelical movement in this country, but it hit me very hard personally too.

Keep in mind that Satan apears as an angel of light. Most false teachers will use all the right words and logic to make their message sound like the real thing. The main thing is: Are they lifting us Jesus Christ and Him alone. If they are constantly talking about doctrine, the walk, holiness, etc; but not relating how this is pointing to Jesus then they are off no matter how good the message is.

The truth should always be sought in God's written word, which was fulfilled as well as lived and breathed by Christ Jesus.

A believer will be known by his or her fruits.

Is it bad to listen to a false prophet? Well, it can be dangerous ground. For after all, why is a false prophet a false prophet?

Because of his or her fruit. The word of God is always honest and sincere, a false prophet is not.

I've been doing some more thinking on this . . .

I have to wonder what the "false" is you refer to. Some problems people have are a result of sin nature that need to be overcome. Yet some problems are where the heart is out of alignment with God.

If the person's heart is out of alignment with God, it can create a false twist to any Scriptural truth they give.

With any person, we have to evaluate everything against the Scripture - as the Bereans did with Paul. And sometimes a person can be spot on in one area but off-kilter with another. Yet what matters the most is where their heart is with the Lord. Consider the churches in Revelation. Most of them had points the Lord was proud of them for yet points the Lord was disappointed in them for. The Ephesians had theological zealousness but lost their first love in Him. Another church stood strong against persecution "where Satan's throne is" yet were compromisers with sin.

So for whatever it is you are disturbed by, you need to evaluate if it is an issue that corrupts the theology or not.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
