Luke 20 27 Some Sadducees, those who deny that there is a resurrection, came forward and put this question to him, 28 saying, "Teacher, Moses wrote for us, 'If someone's brother dies leaving a wife but no child, his brother must take the wife and raise up descendants for his brother.' 29 Now there were seven brothers; the first married a woman but died childless. 30 Then the second 31 and the third married her, and likewise all the seven died childless. 32 Finally the woman also died. 33 Now at the resurrection whose wife will that woman be? For all seven had been married to her." 34 Jesus said to them, "The children of this age marry and remarry; 35 but those who are deemed worthy to attain to the coming age and to the resurrection of the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage. 36 They can no longer die, for they are like angels; and they are the children of God because they are the ones who will rise. Ask yourself what would be the reason for this in our next life. Our next life is not like this life at all.

The Believer's Joy Is Jesus The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. Zephaniah 3:17 Jesus For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. Isaiah 64:4 Alone But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9 So Where's The Beef? Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1 John 2:15-
Guest Bazz50
FresnoJoe,a believer's joy will be more than just Jesus Sure, those scriptures you quoted are true. But when none of those scriptures are no longer relevant in the sense that there won't be any enemy around and today's problems will not be around forever, then what? We would ask ourselves what is the purpose for God making human beings? What does God say is the reason He made human beings? Guest Bazz50
Paul tells us that we will judge the angels among other things. That's one clue though it more than that. The Bible says that God said when He was getting ready to make man, He said, let us make man in our image and let them have dominion over the Earth. The key word there is dominion. Human beings were made to have dominion, but not just over the Earth but over all things as another part of the Bible tell us. Contrary to what the majority of Christians believe God's children will live on the Earth but their dominion will be over the universe. The vast majority of Christians never seem to ask why did God created the universe if He only intended the Earth to be inhabited.

Scripture never even hints that we will have dominion over anything in the next life, just this one, and there was a list of what we have dominion over. Sorry, but the universe is not on that list. You stopped short but it goes on to verse 10. 1 Corinthians 2:10 (KJV) 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. Through the Spirit of God we can know if we are willing to listen to what He has to say. And I can tell you this, its awesome. We will rule over the entire universe with Jesus as kings or lords. We will create beings on various plants and we will be gods to them. We will have no limitations.....we will be able to be in several places at once, go anyplace do anything we want.....we will be just like Jesus as He now is.....full of all the power of God. Scripture please. Show me one place where God gives us dominion over the universe. Scripture tells us that Jesus will have dominion forever and ever, not us.
