Hey, W.S., you could probably start a set-to in an empty house, right? The bottom line, of course, for those from false prophetess Ellen Gould Harmon White's SDA persuasion is to stay Judaic, boost Judaic and invite others back to Judaic. And some appear not addled at all!

They were indeed Jews - but we're not. The Apostle Paul clearly indicated that ALL Sabbaths were done away, not some & excluding the Jewish seventh-day sabbath. In fact, as I've already stated, the Apostle Paul links all sabbaths with new moons, etc., but we do not attach biblical significance to such Jewish festivals today. Do you celebrate Yom Kippur? Your problem is that you strive as an adherent of Ellen Gould Harmon White's teachings to separate what the Apostle Paul refers to as "the law" (singular) into various parts (more than one) which, of course, the Apostle does not allow for. Ceremonial, judicial & moral were all part of the one Mosaic code. And the Apostle assures us that it - the one Mosaic code - was "nailed to the cross of Christ".

You quote Colossians 2:14 - "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross."

Which law is against us? God's 10 Commandments or the Mosses Law?

Notice which law the Bible says is contrary to us - "Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee." Deuteronomy 31:26

Moses put the book of the law on the side of the ark, which was against us.

God's 10 Commandments were inside the ark

"And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark." Deuteronomy 10:2

Moses put the 10 commandments inside the ark...and they were not against us nor were they nailed to the cross.

We see that the book of the law is against us....which was nailed to the cross. Not God's 10-Commandments.

Also...I will ask you another question, which I am not sure you answered...

The entire kit & caboodle of the Judaic code - not just certain parts of it - were nailed to Calvary's cross. The Apostle Paul is VERY EMPHATIC in Colossians 2. Further, the Ten Commandments, which Ellen Gould Harmon White, founder of 19th-century "Seventh-dayism," thot glowed above all others, was an integral part of the Judaic code, not separate from it....and given to the NATION OF ISRAEL in Exodus 20 & Exodus 31, etc. Followers of EGHW who insist on separating the Mosaic code into three distinct parts are certainly buffaloed by the Apostle Paul in Galatians, the Magna Carta of Liberty for all Seventh-day people, when he refers to the Mosaic code as the SINGULAR code, not separate as EGHW thot in another of her quite imaginary episodes: Colossians 2:16 in the Greek is very outstanding - "THE law" THREE TIMES! SINGULAR, not divided....ONE law, not three.

And why not look at Ellen Gould Harmon's OWN WORDS from her OWN WRITINGS and let HER explain to us just how CONTRADICTORY to the Holy Scriptures of Truth her "Great Controversy," etc, really is? It is IMPERATIVE that EVERYONE check out Ellen Gould Harmon White & her "Seventh-day" tenets as at -

My point, which is hard to understand, was that I do not believe sanctified a "day" as we classify a day. The 7th day didn't have the suffix of "the evening and the sun were the 7th day."

Remembering that time is a temporary institution created by God to be used in our 3 dimensional earth. God doesn't exist in time, He is the Great I Am, He just is. Time is a creation, "A day to the Lord is like a thousand years" and the fact that the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the earth, gives us some insight into this.

The rest of the 7th day was an intended permanent rest. God rested because He was done! "It is finished", remember? The time concept is so hard for us to comprehend.

But what is the specific purpose of the Sabbath? Just like the other 9 Commandments, there is a set purpose for observing it. It accomplishes something that is good and loving.

(pssst! I'll let you guys in on a secret. Frankly I wouldn't have a problem with observing a Saturday Sabbath, but it wouldn't fulfil the love your neighbor portion of that commandment.)

Remember, the Sabbath was made for man, not the other way around--Mark 2:27--there is not a Sabbath prior to man, as there is no reason to physically rest outside of a physical world.
