But if the Bible says - "He shall think to change times and laws..." Daniel 7:25, and the pope says "we changed God's law."

Then, why wouldn't I belive it?

You're taking Dan. 7:25 out of context. It is not a reference to God's Festival or Sabbath laws. To limit the meaning to that context is improper biblical interpretation.

This is a prophecy that has not yet come to pass. It is speaking of the end times, and is global in its application.

Horizon,

Thank you for your response. It seems as though the real intent of your responses is to show that the 7th Day Adventists are false and their prophet is a false prophet.

But in order to make my point on the Sabbath, I didn't once quote Ellen G White. If your desire is to prove that SDA is false...that is fine with me. I will not defend the SDA church nor wether Ellen is a true or false prophet because I am not asking you to join my church or read her books.

Every arguement that I have for the Sabbath has come from the Bible or history.

If you choose to show me that the Sabbath is not Sabbath you should put down Ellen White's materials and show me from your Bible.

I do however respect your knowledge on the subject, but remember this forum is not about making the other persons denomination true or false...it is to share the gospel. The truth will come out one day - one way or another.

Thank you for your response...and I look forward to anything you have to discuss on the Sabbath. Thanks :emot-questioned:

Greetings HorizonEast, Tell me what the word "forever" means to you?

Is God the same yesterday, today and "forever"?

I myself have a Sabbath positive perspective, but I think the SDA church goes too far when it comes to saying that Sunday will eventually be the mark of the beast, and that Sunday keepers will eventually take that mark. There is no Scriptural support for it, and such an allegation really goes beyond the pale.

Everyone,

I am excited to have such good discussions, but read carefully what my responses have been. I began by showing scriptures regarding why I believe the Sabbath is relevant.

I never mentioned the name Seventh Day Adventist or Ellen White.

I do appreciate your opinions on the SDA church, but my responses were not to point to the SDA church, it was to point you to the scriptures.

Please go back and see my 1st couple of responses, everytime I brought scripture out, the response seemed to be focused on Ellen White or the SDA church.

I love everyone in this forum and am striving to be the best Christian that I can be. If I have offended anyone with my comments, this was not the intent.

I hope that in the future we can learn how to share beliefs without throwing rocks at each other.

Thanks :wub::24:;):emot-questioned::24::wub::blink::wub:

So scripturally defend your opinion that the mark of the beast will be Sunday.

shiloh, I will do my best.

1st, I would have to declare that there will be a lot of Sunday keepers in heaven and a lot of Sabbath keepers in hell. I am not judging anyone here.

Shiloh, I cannot do it all in one response because it would be too long. How about I do it in sections...and then you can comment in between? You seem reasonable, so I believe you would say " :emot-questioned: "

The Mark of the Beast

In order to understand what the mark of the beast is...you first have to know who the beast is. Once we find out who the beast is...then we can know what his mark is. Make sense?

What did John the Revelator see?

"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy ." Revelation 13:1

How does John further describe this Beast?

"And the beast which I saw was like unto a LEOPARD , and his feet were as the feet of a BEAR , and his mouth as the mouth of a LION ..." Revelation 13:2

What did Daniel see?

"And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. The first was like a LION , and had eagle's wings...a second, like to a BEAR ...After this I beheld, and lo another, like a LEOPARD ." Daniel 7:3-6

Now, Daniel saw a 4th Beast...how did he describe it?

"After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly ..." Daniel 7:7

According to Daniel, what did these 4 Beasts represent?

"...The fourth beast shall be the fourth KINGDOM upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms ..." Daniel 7:23 .

If prophecy states that a Beast is a kingdom...then we must understand that the Mark of the Beast is the Mark of a nation

shiloh, I didn't want to continue if you had a comment to make.

I'm not trying to convert you here...I'm just trying to explain this...so you can just say "continue" or something, but I want to make sure that you don't have any questions on this 1st part.

So let me know that your still alive.

Ellen Gould Harmon White's Jewish Seventh-day Sabbath conclusions are, of course, hers and hers alone. If she wished to remain under the Old Covenant & Judaism with its Mosaic principles, fine. But since the Lord Jesus Christ died & conquered death by His glorious, physical, literal & everlasting resurrection, those who love Him now follow Him on resurrection ground.

No Roman "Pope" changed the Jewish Seventh-day Sabbath. All four Gospels underscore the fact that Jesus Christ arose on Sunday, the first Day. The very Kingdom of Chrisdt was established on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1), which always fell on "the morrow after the Sabbath (Lev.23:15,16) - always on Sunday, the first Day. The Troas disciples were gathered for worship on "the first Day of the week (Acts 20:7). The Corinth Christians assembled & contributed to the Church treasury on "every first Day of the week" (1 Cor.16:2). Plainly, Moses Law (including the Jewish Seventh-day Sabbath) was directed to the Jewish nation as shown in Deuteronomy 5:3, and Nehemiah 9:13,14 for starters. The Apostle Paul makes it abundantly clear - save for Ellen Gould Harmon White - that the law was added "till the seed should come" and that seed was Jesus Christ (Gal. 3:19; cf, 3:16).

When Jesus fulfilled His mission on Calvary (John 19:28), the Mosaic system (including its Jewish Seventh-day Sabbath) passed away (Matthew 5:17,18). Jesus abolished in His Flesh, by His death on Calvary, the "law of commandments (Ephesians 2:15). We are not under the demands of the Old Testament Judaic system (the Law of Moses incl. its Jewish Seventh-day Sabbath) - it has "passed away." The Judaic Law of Moses was given to the Hebrew people only; it was never binding on Christians and is not binding today. It is most unfortunate that the ringing eccentricities & false revelations of Ellen Gould Harmon White have found harbor in an SDA element.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
