Jack Hayford: Election Outcome Could Be Prophetic Announcement

1:00PM EST 11/8/2012 Jack Hayford

<snip>

. . . As one incident, the election outcome holds the portent of being a prophetic announcement of the impending end of the significance of the church in America, unless ...

Unless a reawakening of Christ's body in America occurs, . . . .

Unless the church becomes more persuaded that the fountainhead of its strength is in living worship—by which we humble ourselves, seeking God's presence (more than it demonstrates our skill at making music)— . . . .

Unless the pulpits, sanctuaries and classrooms of the church be once again employed as centerpieces of shaping disciples unto transformation with solid teaching and meaty preaching, holding forth the Word of life, the declining percentage of believers in America will be further reduced. . . . .

Unless a vanguard of today's American church leadership chooses to take a stand with Israel as the Sovereign God's chosen people (a theological posture rooted in the Word and our nation's history), the effect of out present apathy will advance an already increasing global anti-Semitism,. . . .

In summary: the bitter fruit of the 2012 presidential outcome is not the party or person who is taking the White House, but in the disappearing fruitage of the church's inherent, God-given dynamic to affect the spiritual climate of our nation and effect a harvest of the "fruit of righteousness" in a country formerly seen as sufficiently "Christian" to leave a deep enough stamp on the national life to indicate a credible, spiritual presence.

Come What May

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

God Will Have His Way

Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?

It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.

Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.

To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Isaiah 40:21-25

And No Matter What These Folks Do I Can't Remain Gray

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he. John 5:23-26

For Tomorrow Is Yet Another Day

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Matthew 6:33-34

And Jesus Will Make Hay

So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. Matthew 13:27-30

This last part has me wondering if Christians are not spending too much time and effort on laws and regulations and not enough on souls and disciplining those that are in the body.

We will never end abortion with laws, it can only be done by changing the hearts and minds of the people. Same-sex-marriage cannot be stopped by amendments and bills, it can only be Christ in the hearts of people.

Having left a church a couple a years ago and spending a year looking for a new home, there are way too many churches that think judgment is their purpose in life instead of spreading the love of Christ. We are driving people away from God with our shrill attacks and condemnations.

The church in America has lost its way in my opinion.

Good post.

Hello....RunningGator

I agree with you. The Church is without a compass. It has turned it's back on Jesus Christ by RE-IMAGING Him and the Word of God. God forbid that we should "offend" someone who's sinning and not show him the way. Do we really think that Jesus, the Apostles, or Paul would use politically correct words in order not to offend someone? I think not. I agree that Truth should be spoken in love, truth without love is harsh and cold, and often rejected. The Church is not to change for non-believers! It is for the non-believers to CHANGE. To be saved and have a "transformation of the heart". But, sadly today, the Church needs a TRANSFORMATION OF THE HEART!!!!!!!! When I go into a church it's hard to tell if I'm in a worship service. It's more like an entertainment center. The worshiping seems more like it is self centered than God centered. It's worldly! Are the doctrines taught, few if any nowadays. We fail to remember that we are not some organization or building! We are a living body of "believers in Jesus Christ" we are "part of the Body of Christ", who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is not about buildings or denominations, it's about having a "relationship" with Jesus Christ. How do we do that? We read the Bible, the Living Word of Jesus Christ, and apply it to our lives, and then we live it out loud and we're not ashamed of that relationship.

Take Care and God Bless <>< frog

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
