The Narrow Way

¹³ “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. ¹⁴ Because^[a] narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

You Will Know Them by Their Fruits

¹⁵ “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. ¹⁶ You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? ¹⁷ Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. ¹⁸ A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. ¹⁹ Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. ²⁰ Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Proverbs chapters 1-4

Seek wisdom and knowledge (in the Bible) pray the tutelage of the Spirit who wrote the Bible. And the truth shall set you free of the counterfeits (which the Bible does inform and teach us about with the warnings you mentioned and that of Jesus and the Apostles).

3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

You see, we live in the land of deception. We have a sin nature that is bent towards deception and incapable of distinguishing truth from untruth without the help of God and the4 standard of truth (the Bible).

There is a way that seems right to a man but the ends thereof are the ways of death.
