To Endure!

Hello Suzanne

Endurance is part of salvation. Here is the first scripture you posted on this thread.

Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

This scripture is saying more than who is saved. It is also saying who is not saved.

Can you lead me in the right dirrection to find the scripture that says that Abraham was led by the spirit of the LORD. You know in the thought process. I have been under the impression all of these years that the LORD actually talked to Abraham. I know there must be scripture somewhere that at least implies that but it is eluding my memory and my searches of scripture are bringing up nothing.

Dear Idied,

I don't know of a specific passage that states what you are looking for. But, I would venture to say, that the faith issue would not have been a "faith issue" if he had physically seen God in the beginning. I mean if you or I SAW God and He told us to go to places unknown to us, we'd go, because we had seen the Great and Mighty God. The issue of faith originates from the heart receiving God's Word without the flesh, and with the Spirit, which is unseen like the wind.

In His Love,

Suzanne

AMEN Suzanne :24:

We wouldn't even know if he was standing in front of us or speaking to us if not for faith.

Dear Suzanne,

Just to let you know i am still following this study, really enjoying it. :24:

I must confess though, in all honesty, that i find some things easier to endure than others. Why is there just that one thing that i feel is the constant thorn in my side?

Makes me feel like i'm letting our Heavenly Father down!

Love to all in Christ Jesus' name

Anne

Dear Anne,

The increase of the intake of His Word, will decrease the desires of the flesh. For His Word in us is very powerful to overcome the sin.

You'll do just fine, I trust in His Power, you can too!

:24:

Suzanne

My Devotion for Today from Henry Blackaby:

THE RACE

12/14/2004

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

-- 2 TIMOTHY 4:7

There is much satisfaction in finishing something you have begun! The success of a race is determined not only by how well you begin but also by how well you end. Many athletes can begin a race impressively, but if they stumble or are injured or lack the stamina to finish, their good start is useless. Paul rejoiced that he had not only begun the race but he had also finished it. His prize was a robust faith in God and a life filled with God's powerful presence. The Christian life is not easy. Some mistakenly assume that once they become children of God, their struggles are over. Many Christians begin their walk with Christ enthusiastically, but as the pressures mount, they lose heart and abandon their pilgrimage. Paul described His Christian life as a battle. There were times when he struggled, and only through perseverance could he continue. It may surprise us to know that the great apostle had to struggle at times to be faithful to God. Paul faced persecution, misunderstanding, betrayal, and death threats. His Christian life was anything but easy, yet he persevered. Your faith in God is not proven by beginning the race but by enduring to the finish. Publicly announcing your commitment to Christ in your church does not compare with a lifetime of devotion to His cause. Use Paul as your model. Live your life in such a way that you can one day conclude, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith!"

In His Love,

Suzanne

Amen Suzanne,

The apostles, had the same troubles we have today, but they finished the race. That was just the message i needed to hear, thanks.

I didn't know that the Lord Jesus Christ had added further requirements to His glorious plan of free salvation purchased for us at tremendous cost on Mount Calvary. The "enduring" of Matthew 24, of course, has direct reference to those people in the coming-but-not-here-yet Tribulation Period & their hope of enduring its judgments & the new Millennial Age about to then dawn.

"And Paul said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." Acts 16:31.

Thank You, Lord Jesus!

James 5:11 Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord--that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.

2 Timothy 2:12 If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.

Hebrews 10:36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

Heb 12:1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Read the parable of the seeds and you'll understand.

Luke 8:4 And when a great multitude had gathered, and they had come to Him from every city, He spoke by a parable: 5 "A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down, and the birds of the air devoured it. 6 Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. 8 But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold." When He had said these things He cried, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" 9 Then His disciples asked Him, saying, "What does this parable mean?" 10 And He said, "To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that 'Seeing they may not see, And hearing they may not understand.' F56 11 "Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13 But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. 14 Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. 15 But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.

In His Love,

Suzanne

A group of scholars were attempting to discuss what made Christainity different from all other religions in the world. One threw out the virgin birth, yet certain ancient pagan religions had already taught that. Another brought up the point of God dying for His creation...yet that was already found in other religions. They were about to give up when C.S. Lewis walked in and was asked what made Christianity so different. He smiled and said, "That's easy; grace."

The idea that God came down and died for His cration is not unique to Christianity...yet the idea that Christians have to do nothing except believe (accept) this free gift is unique to Christianity. No other religion before us or now holds this belief. All of them have a works taylored belief style. If we remove this and say we have to work for our salvation or work to maintain our salvation...then Dan is right, we are no different than Islam. Once we have accepted this gift, Christ inherents our life and makes us something new...something we do not have to strive for. Name one miracle that Christ performed where He required the person to heal themselves. So why would He require us to strive to be perfect without doing it Himself?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
