One can not be saved through sprinkling baptism?

Yes, Romans 6 is clear that baptism is a form of "burrial and resurrection" -- something sprinkling cannot provide.

Things haven't changed much since Jesus warned the hypocrites that they'd sooner pull an ox out of a ditch on the Sabbath....than do good and heal those who suffer.

People look at rituals and rites; God looks at the heart.

I'm glad to see that her original question took a turn towards immersion, since that's what the bible says. I'm glad about the theif question being cleared up to, if Jesus says, 'you are coming to heaven with me,' to heaven you go, Jesus, is God, is the Spirit, his Word is His Word.

I was just going to say what he said ^^^ .....I think we need to be clear that salvation is not dependent upon whether or not we get sprinkled or immersed. It's dependent upon whether or not our soul is made alive (through Christ).

Are you arguing that the thief on the cross is a pattern of salvation for today? During his personal ministry, Jesus possessed the authority to forgive men’s sins personally and directly, upon whatever terms he chose. “Son, your sins are forgiven” (Mark 2:5).

While Jesus was on earth he had the authority to give blessings directly based upon the need at hand. At the time of his death his authority was continued in his “last will and testament”, the New Covenant, which was ratified by “his blood” (Hebrews 9:15-17). The terms of this “New Testament” specify immersion in water. (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; 22:16; 1 Peter 3:21, etc.). The thief lived before the New Testament came into effect. We live under the New Testament today.

It is strange how some people try to fit scripture to meet their own peculiar beliefs - even the story of the thief on the cross.

You sound quite hostile. The "fruit" of the Spirit is more gently conveyed by those walking in it.

I believe that baptism is an act of obedience but the "act" does not qualify one's salvation.

You need to join a good bible study group to heop understand many verses.

Too many verses when taken out of context and by thierself will lead you to many false beliefs and teachings.

It is grace though faith in Jesus Christ as your savior that saves,

We need to be baptised following our conversion because it is an instruction.

There is no specific requirement of how the baptism was done, or how it has to be done.

The normally would have followed the practice of purification, simular to that of the Jewish rite.

But we can not ever loose our salvation merely from not following the law, that is why Christ came to save us from the law, and this was the point that Paul tryes to make.

The bible says we 'must' be baptised, 'burried' to rise again in a new life, Jesus-like and cleansed, if thats what the book says, why would people believe different, or less, is this another example of man hearing what he wants, i'm only a 4 year old christian and have many great teachers, so this is my belief based on what God has shown me so far.
