When I was at school I was told by an otherwise sensible classmate that when Greece joined the European Union (in 1981)it would, according to his reading of the book of Revelation, bring about the end of the world, it didn't happen. This stuff just makes Christians look stupid. Perhaps, Brussels was really just chosen because it was a largish city, at the then centre of the European Community, in a small country (big countries get jealous when bureaucratic centres get put in cities in other big countries). That kind of went up in smoke with the disolution of the Soviet Union. Amor "says" true I think. The international relations and tensions between the United States and the European Common Market are going to evolve or devolve rather quickly in the next year or two I think.
