(Ignore how most of the article is about mormons. They do get to Christian churches later.) http://www.abc15.com/dpp/news/local_news/water_cooler/at-church-more-congregants-fiddling-with-smartphones-and-tablets-during-services

It's irritating some times when your trying to talk to someone and they just randomly start fiddling with their phone lol.

It is really isolating and not inviting of fellowship at all.

NKJV this is so we know we are at the time of the end... lets live as though there is no tomorrow as we see today His Word fulfilled! Electronics are okay as long as you don't get sidetracked. Personally, I find note taking on my phone a lot easier than a piece of paper I will loose. I use BibleGateway app and Bible.is primarily. I like the search features. It's also great to pull up or look up a worship song on my phone to listen to later at home. My 2 cents God bless, GE
Guest shiloh357
I think the problem is with people texting and surfing Facebook during services. I have seen it happen a lot at other churches. My church is made up mostly of older people and we don't have a problem with it.

I switch my phone onto silent mode during church and leave it like that. My wife uses her iPad because she has e sword on it, and I find it handy when the pastor says we are reading from "Esther 1: 2 - 7" for example. It is far faster to find the verse than paging through ones bible.

And not a bad thing. But to use them to hang out on facebook or text friends etc during church service shows a heart not focused on the Lord during worship. Now I admit that my mind sometimes wanders during church. Im human. If a song is boring, my mind wanders. If I hear a sudden noise, I look around. But I try and stay focused.
