Demonizing Israel More Important Than Defending Persecuted Christians?

It continues to be a source of amazement that the mainstream Christian churches in the West and in the Middle East pay so little, if any, attention to the plight of Christians and the destruction of their churches in Arab and Muslim countries.  Rather, they prefer to focus on the “oppression of Palestinians” so completely that they are blind to the real tragedies.  This myopic lack of perceptiveness has been typical of a significant part of the Anglican Church; the Presbyterian Church, USA; the National Council of Churches; the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation; the World Council of Churches; and some Christian NGOs whose shortsightedness is limited to divestment from Israel or condemnation of it.

I think the mainstream denominational churches are so seeker-friendly and concerned about keeping their 501c3 government tax sheltered status that they have lost touch with the core beliefs of biblical Christianity and the persecution attached to belonging to Jesus.

Very pertinent article....one that should make all Christians who support Israel wake up and take a stand against what is going on

rather than just reading about these things....it is time we actively come against them and develop strategies in our localities as to

how best to be a voice that stands with Israel.    My fear is that Christians will continue to remain armchair supporters of Israel

with a few prayers and donations thrown in...but never get actively involved countering the venom against Israel that can be found

in NGO groups in virtually any sizeable town...and in many case here in the UK, even some small villages of 5,000 or less.
