I don't think Kinsey did any 'born gay' studies anyway, did he? If yes, which one(s) did you find convincing? I'd like to see them.

Homosexuality is a sexual sin, a sin committed with the body, just like fornication and adultery. And like any sin, we can be delivered from it by the Blood of Jesus Christ.

I read in a ministry magazine an article about homosexuality, and a few former gay and lesbian people spoke up saying there were delivered from that sinful state through prayer and asking Jesus to "heal them."

While we all must recognize there are spiritual forces at work (demons), being saved by Jesus gives us authority in His name over these demonic forces that try to influence us to sin, whatever that sin may be.

Paul said in Romans 6:12 - Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. When he says "do not let" this means that we have the free will to allow sin to reign, or to choose to deny the flesh.

Just as a man or woman may struggle with adultery or lusting (really they are one in the same), a homosexual struggles as well. The key here is JESUS. JESUS conquered Satan and sin, he poured his blood out on the mercy seat and said "It is finished." We are all washed by the blood of the Lamb, sinless in God's eyes. However, we can refuse this wonderful salvation if we consistently make the free will choices to allow our flesh to rule and reign over us. Whoever sins is a slave of sin. But Jesus Christ has freed us from the law of sin and death!!

Homosexuals are not "born that way." God doesn't make mistakes. He creates everyone is His image. Homosexuals are under a demonic influence (NOT possession) and can be freed from this influence by Jesus and Jesus only.

Christian men and women who want to be "accepted" for their homosexual lifestyle, are really saying "Please accept me knowingly living in my sinful state." Where in the Word does Jesus or Paul EVER accept sin? Matter of fact, they NEVER did. Scripture says:

1Tim 5:20 - Those who are sinning rebuke in the presence of all, that the rest also may fear.

1Corinthians 5:11 - But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a BROTHER, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner -- not even to eat with such a person.

This doesn't speak exclusively about homosexuals, rather it includes them. My husband and I won't keep company with any brother or sister in Christ knowlingly sinning as noted above. However, if this brother or sister is in sin and asking for help, then there's a repentant heart and we are willing to work with you.

Should we accept the child molester too? Murderer? Of course not!! God loves them but He does not love their sin, and neither should we. However, if they have a heart of repentance, then we can pray and minister to them.

It's about repentance! To quote Jesus "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

The very fact that practically every time a homosexual is seen in the news accounts, he has just left a heterosexual marriage...which, of course, surely implies that he was born heterosexual and then chose otherwise. Very interesting indeed.

Hey Nik, thanks for posting your continued conversation under "The cause of homosexual behavior..." I wanted to address a few things you said and point you to some research you might not be familiar with; which, when reviewed reveals more significant reasons for homosexual behavior from health clinics (medical clinics), which point to environmental factors that were not included nor mentioned in any of these research articles you are referencing.

“What I can tell you is the research that shows that genetic and embryological factors do affect a person's pre-disposition toward homosexual behaviour”

This is inconclusive research. Environmental and developmental factors were never considered in the research, making the assertion of genetic disposition insignificant.

“people who are self-defined homosexuals and bi-sexuals have different 2a/4a finger length ratios than do hetrosexuals....This effect was only statistically significant for women”

Meaning this proves no correlation in the sexual preference among men and only in the relation of finger size and preference among women. You have not listed, however, if this research article shows the correlation of this finger ratio to heterosexual women. I assume the article does not include this information.

The people who are self-defined homosexuals and bi-sexuals also have higher ratios of self-destructive behavior within populace than does the heterosexual populace. This is not hampered by the lack of UAI (unprotected anal intercourse) among lesbians (see another article)

“The second piece of evidence is genealogical. People who display homosexual behaviour are far more likely to have relatives on their mother's side displaying similar behaviour than relatives on their father's side.”

“Whilst identical twins did not always share homosexual tendancies, they did far more than non-identical twins…”

These evidences are also inconclusive towards the assertion of genes influencing sexual preference. The reasons include the same ones stated before. A more likely reason for this observation comes from environmental influence creating traumatic memories, stated in this article.

Finally,

“…scientists have found genetic material on the X-chromosome than homosexuals tend to share. Again, the link is statistical not total, and the findings are currently disputed - they are yet to be repeated that is. But it is still significant nonetheless.”

Here you have refuted your own assertion that this is significant, or to be considered in the assertion. If you have remaining questions, feel free to PM. Thank you, once again for bringing up these issues that they may be addressed and the current research further clarified and reviewed. May the Lord bless you and continue to reveal Himself to you through the truths that He has established.

where is the verse that says new born's are sinners? Homosexuality is sodomites, an abomination and a free will choice to sin , that is , rebel against God and say to God " i do not need you, i exalt myself above you" Just as satan did. Gays are very selfish and claim they are the persecuted and shunned. Jesus was THE PERSECUTED AND SHUNNED. John 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Joh 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

Joh 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

I do not believe anyone is born homosexual. I do believe some people are born with a tendency to lean that why. But, that does not mean they have to choose to participate in the sin. My husband

Most homosexuals will tell you that they were influenced by another homosexual while they were still children. An adult homosexual prying on children brings new people into the homosexual community.

FACT --MOST pedifiles are straight, not gay.

As someone who struggles in this area, I find that there are a lot of misconceptions about homosexuals in this thread. I wish folks would KNOW what they are talking about BEFORE speaking, or in this case posting. I have found that Christians are the most cruel and most judgemental group towards homosexuality.

If you want a good understanding why gays are gay, I highly recommend the book "Homosexual No More" written by Dr. William Consiglio. Dr. Consiglio counseled me several years back. He knows his stuff. And for the church to reach the homosexual community, which they should, they need to be correctly informed. The reason it's so hard to witness to a gay person is all the preconceived notions and the gay man or woman becomes defensive. Understanding homosexuality is key.

As for myself, I've been a Christian for 25 years. I struggled to reconcile both and couldn't. It came to a point I had to chose one lifestyle or the other. Leaving the gay community is extremely hard. Leaving the gay lifestyle is very hard. I can assure you that I do not believe one is "born gay" but on the other hand one does not "choose" to be gay. How stupid would that be when society and the church shun gays. It's very difficult to live the gay lifestyle. But now society is making it easier. I was never "out" so close friends & family have no idea of my struggle.

Homosexuality is very complex, there are many reasons why somebody becomes gay. It generally starts before puberty, when the youngster starts realizing he's different. It gets reinforced by parents, family, friends, schoolmates, etc. There is a huge void in the homosexual and because he is "attracted" to the same sex, eventually, after puberty when his sex drive awakens, he starts fantasing about men, men he finds attractive. As he grows older these fantasies become reality. He starts to explore. Once he has his first sexual encounter it cements the idea in his head that he is "gay" or "homosexual". Thus begins the downward spiral.

The closeness with another man and the sex are so satisfying, it's a high. And the longer he lives the gay lifestyle, the harder it is to convince him that it's wrong. Because he is filling the void with sex, a very powerful tool that satan uses.

I believe there is full recovery from homosexuality, but it takes years. It takes help. It takes a person from the same sex to show the homosexual that he can have a loving relationship with another man without the sex. It takes a man who is strong, who is loving, who is grounded in the Word, and best if he's married. The homosexual needs to "see" a real relationship at work (the married man I just spoke of). Both the husband & wife need to show the homosexual that they love him unconditionally. But he needs to have the confidence of the man "sponsering" him.

It has been 11 years since I left the gay lifestyle and chose to follow Christ with all my being. So please, no hate mail.

I was not talking per say about pedifiles. I was talking about adults who seduce teenagers and young adults.

With adult woman seduce Ellen. With Rock Hudson he was seduced when he first came to Hollywood by his agent. Growing up my best friend was seduced by our woman Sunday School teacher.

God did not make gay people. People make gay people.

Betty;

You are so naive about this topic. Recruiting & seducing people are not going to "Make Them Gay". Rock Hudsen & Ellen may have been seduced, but they were already gay. If they were not gay, they would have been repulsed by the seducer. Imagine yourself in that situation, would you then turn gay? No way. Please do me a favor and read up on the topic. At this link there are many good books to read. I would suggest "Homosexual No More" Because Dr Consiglio devotes the book towards counselors. He has counseled hundreds if not thousands of gays, myself included. His knowledge is first hand experience. You will do good to educate yourself.

If you have specific questions, please feel free to ask me. I'll do my best to give you an answer. But honestly, you're posts show that you are very naive in this matter.

Blessings;

Corey

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
