Okay..... I was talking to my cousin yesterday and he asked me to look up the word hell in the bible as well as look up the word that it was translated from in Hebrew and Greek. He asked that I prove that there is a hell. Now I do believe that there is a hell and that any one who do not believe in Jesus will go there. If any one knows any thing about the word hell in Hebrew or Greek any information would help.

He is a Christian but he doesn't believe that a loving God would send any one to a place like hell. I for one don't believe that either. I believe that God gave us a way out of going to hell and it's up to us to choose.

God Bless You

If he denies the Word of God, what makes you certain he is a Christian?

You lost me. First you say you don't believe there is such a place as hell, then you say it's up to us to choose. Choose what?

consider~!

Jesus came to SAVE and for the SAVED to receive SALVATION only through Him.

now,

if He went through all THIS TRAUMA, for 33 and 1/2 yrs of ''suffering'' and then dying on a cross that He never deserved .

ask

WHAT WAS HE SAVING people FROM?

if one is saved... consider... what is the other.?

there HAS TO BE AN ALTERNATIVE.

being saved is opposite too being ....?

it really does not matter, what 'we-believe-in' it is WHAT JESUS BELIEVES IN that counts. After all HE SHOULD KNOW.

If there is no such place, why then would we have a word for it?

Main Entry: hell

Pronunciation: 'hel

Function: noun

Etymology: Middle English, from Old English; akin to Old English helan to conceal, Old High German helan, Latin celare, Greek kalyptein

1 a (1) : a nether world in which the dead continue to exist : HADES (2) : the nether realm of the devil and the demons in which the damned suffer everlasting punishment -- often used in curses <go to hell> or as a generalized term of abuse <the hell with it> b Christian Science : ERROR 2b, SIN

2 a : a place or state of misery, torment, or wickedness <war is hell -- W. T. Sherman> b : a place or state of turmoil or destruction <all hell broke loose> c : a severe scolding <got hell for coming in late> d : unrestrained fun or sportiveness <the kids were full of hell> -- often used in the phrase for the hell of it especially to suggest action on impulse or without a serious motive <decided to go for the hell of it>

3 archaic : a tailor's receptacle

4 -- used as an interjection <hell, I don't know!> or as an intensive <hurts like hell> <funny as hell> -- often used in the phrase hell of a <it was one hell of a good fight> or hell out of <scared the hell out of him> or with the or in <moved way the hell up north> <what in hell is wrong, now?>

- from hell : being the worst or most dreadful of its kind

- hell on : very hard on or destructive to <the constant traveling is hell on your digestive system>

- hell or high water : difficulties of whatever kind or size <will stand by her convictions come hell or high water>

- hell to pay : dire consequences <if he's late there'll be hell to pay>

The deception would be to say it doesn't exist. If then it didn't exist then there would be no ultimate punishment for the wicked. Only Satan would benefit in such a deception. Beware wolves in sheeps clothing.

What I meant was I don't believe that God wants any one to go to hell that is why He sent His Son to die for our sins. But because of who He is sin isn't something that He will allow in His present. He gave us the choice to believe in His Son, His only begotten Son who willingly died for us. God doesn't send any one to hell. We willingly go by not excepting Jesus.

Something else he said is that when you die if you don't believe in Christ you are burned up in a pit of fire. Burned to nothing. Your spirit, soul, flesh everything gone like you were never there.

God Bless You

Yet, there are people in hell. So where does that leave God? Did something happen that he didn't want, or is He in total control? Is His plan perfect and infallible?

I believe you are correct here. No he doesn't WANT anyone to go to hell. Yes he would like them all to be saved. But since the beginning of all things he new what would happen. When he comes to gather the harvest the chaff will go into the fire.

I think that GOD receives us into paradise... and if we make mistakes there, or dishonour him, well, he threats us a bit like Lucifer and he sends us to hell.

I hope thats how its working.

But between you and me, Jesus could've been a bit clearer on the subject. :noidea:

But I dont believe in lakes of fire... actually, its an oxymoron.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
