Matt.10:34-41

34Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.

35For I have come to part asunder a man from his father, and a daughter from her mother, and a [c]newly married wife from her mother-in-law--

36And a man's foes will be they of his own household.(A)

37He who loves [and [d]takes more pleasure in] father or mother more than [in] Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves [and takes more pleasure in] son or daughter more than [in] Me is not worthy of Me;

38And he who does not take up his cross and follow Me [[e]cleave steadfastly to Me, conforming wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also] is not worthy of Me.

39Whoever finds his [[f]lower] life will lose it [the higher life], and whoever loses his [lower] life on My account will find it [the higher life].

40He who receives and welcomes and accepts you receives and welcomes and accepts Me, and he who receives and welcomes and accepts Me receives and welcomes and accepts Him Who sent Me.

41He who receives and welcomes and accepts a prophet because he is a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward, and he who receives and welcomes and accepts a righteous man because he is a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

Matt.16:24-26;

24Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself [disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests] and take up his cross and follow Me [[f]cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying, also].

25For whoever is bent on saving his [temporal] life [his comfort and security here] shall lose it [eternal life]; and whoever loses his life [his comfort and security here] for My sake shall find it [life everlasting].

26For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life [his blessed [g]life in the kingdom of God]? Or what would a man give as an exchange for his [blessed] [h]life [in the kingdom of God]?

Mark.8:34-38;

34And Jesus called [to Him] the throng with His disciples and said to them, If anyone intends to come after Me, let him deny himself [forget, ignore, disown, and [d]lose sight of himself and his own interests] and take up his cross, and [[e]joining Me as a disciple and siding with My party] follow [f]with Me [continually, cleaving steadfastly to Me].

35For whoever wants to save his [[g]higher, spiritual, eternal] life, will lose it [the [h]lower, natural, temporal life which is lived only on earth]; and whoever gives up his life [which is lived only on earth] for My sake and the Gospel's will save it [his [j]higher, spiritual life [k]in the eternal kingdom of God].

36For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life [[l]in the eternal kingdom of God]?

37For what can a man give as an exchange ([m]a compensation, a ransom, in return) for his [blessed] life [[n]in the eternal kingdom of God]?

38For whoever [o]is ashamed [here and now] of Me and My words in this adulterous (unfaithful) and [preeminently] sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when He comes in the glory (splendor and majesty) of His Father with the holy angels.

Luke.9:23:-26;

23And He said to all, If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [[d]disown himself, [e]forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, [f]refuse and give up himself] and take up his cross daily and follow Me [[g]cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also].

24For whoever would preserve his life and save it will lose and destroy it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he will preserve and save it [[h]from the penalty of eternal death].

25For what does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and ruins or forfeits (loses) himself?

26Because whoever is ashamed of Me and of My teachings, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when He comes in the [threefold] glory (the splendor and majesty) of Himself and of the Father and of the holy angels.

Luke 4:21-31;

21So the servant came and reported these [answers] to his master. Then the master of the house said in wrath to his servant, Go quickly into the [a]great streets and the small streets of the city and bring in here the poor and the disabled and the blind and the lame.

22And the servant [returning] said, Sir, what you have commanded me to do has been done, and yet there is room.

23Then the master said to the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges and urge and constrain [them] to yield and come in, so that my house may be filled.

24For I tell you, not one of those who were invited shall taste my supper.

25Now huge crowds were going along with [Jesus], and He turned and said to them,

26If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his [own] father and mother [in the sense of indifference to or relative disregard for them in comparison with his attitude toward God] and [likewise] his wife and children and brothers and sisters--[yes] and even his own life also--he cannot be My disciple.

27Whoever does not persevere and carry his own cross and come after (follow) Me cannot be My disciple.

28For which of you, wishing to build a [c]farm building, does not first sit down and calculate the cost [to see] whether he has sufficient means to finish it?

29Otherwise, when he has laid the foundation and is unable to complete [the building], all who see it will begin to mock and jeer at him,

30Saying, This man began to build and was not able ([d]worth enough) to finish.

31Or what king, going out to engage in conflict with another king, will not first sit down and consider and take counsel whether he is able with ten thousand [men] to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?

These are the key doctrinal issues of entering into the Door, the Narrow way, the crucified life; and there is a cost! It cost our Lord everything, we are bought with a price, it will cost us everything as well!

We get into the kingdom one person at a time, laying down all hinderances, of the fleshly and soulish desires, putting Him first in our life!

You can tell a new translation, though they may claim to be older,or they may claim to be easier to understand, But making the way easier is usually what they do , they cause many to make a verbal and sometimes heart felt confession of belief; but the true gospel will cost you your life! How many Know that?, and count the cost?

Also by adding, taking away, or slightly changing the meanings of words, or adding commentaries; they can can copy-write their new bible and be set for life!

Good point. Get a Greek/Interlinear Bible. It's ideal. It's what I used in missions.

For hundreds of years the common person wasn't allowed to read a bible, being that the Catholic religions forbid it!

But for the last four hundred years God has enabled the people to hear and read the true word of God.

There may have been some minor grammatical errors but 3000 manuscripts were compared to get the most accurate translation, and besides that, God said that He could persevere His word for all to see not just the elite theological student.

Yes I did use the amplified because it amplifies the truth to the most degree, and is more convicting, but must be checked by the KJV, and corresponding word studies in Greek and Hebrew!

Much of the versions since 1889 have either been tampered with by Wescott and Hort, and concerning the O.T. Gerhart Kittle, who also worked closely with Hitler.

The point is that if you are truly a christian you are in a battle, which requires your total loyalty to the will of Christ!

We are bought with a price, and are no longer our own, so we must find the truth, His perfect will, and be doing it!

Its called the good fight of faith, if we are a threat to the world and enemy around us we will be in a battle!

Salvation is free, but the upkeep is expensive. I must die daily to my selfish desires. Only then can He live through me, and I make it into His kingdom.

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matt 7:14)

We must believe the fulness of His word. Do we know that few will make it in the Kingdom?

Believe means... to think of something as true or existing; be convinced of the actual existence, occurrence, validity, or truth of something. (World Book Dictionary).

Jesus said, " Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven".

Matthew 7:21.

I believe the Bible; we must be born again, and that born again life must be manifested in us daily. Our old nature must die daily.

1John 5:18 " We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not".

I find the amplified too confusing. It is hard to try and sort out the additional words from the word of God. This is rather ironic since your OP complained that modern translations use other words and dilute the truth and yet you use it anyway.

If the Amplified changes any meanings for in the JKV, I always us the KJV. The Amplfied is not perfect, but it does word studys to bring out a treasure of indepth study on the various meanings of the Hebrew and Greek words!

No other bible I know of does this research; but other bibles leave out key words, most new translations are much shorter, and less acurate, leaving out many words, even whole passages!

There are several people such as Gail Riplinger who have done side by side studies of the new versions, compared to the KJV, and found out that about 10% of the word of God was missing , in the new versions!

I won't go into this any deeper, because you really need the book to see the changes that were made! But there are atleast Ten whole scriptures that are missing!

One of the versions gives the three witnesses in on earth, but totally leave out the three witnesses in heaven!

I used to have all the scripture written down so that I could ask people to read that scripture to me, but when they went to find it they only found that the verse was skipped altogether!

Wescott and Hort were the first to change the Greek manuscripts, but now everyone wants to keep changing the word for filthy lucre!

The Greek documents were known of during the writing of the KLV, but they were excluded, because they had so many errors, and that they were from Egypts school of philosophy and the Vaticanus, which they found contained the same mistakes as the Egyptian sources!

So since the Egyptian texts and the Vatican texts agreed , the Vatican bible was most likely a copy fro the school of philosophy in Egypt !

And since these books were almost never read but preserved for the ages, they claim that they are older and more reliable!

It was hard to find older books because people read them causing them to deteriorate by use and time.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
