Is being gay okay to God?

I have a half sister who has been born again for 2 years. She is a hard core christian and practices her religon regularly. She is also gay. I have heard many theories that God doesn't accept gays but doesn't he accept everyone?

God excepts everyone, But being gay hinders her walk with the LORD because God says being gay is wrong.

"For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due."

-Romans 1:26-27

Things are not the way they should be in her life.

"So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."

-Genesis 1:27

God created Man(adam) and woman(eve), not two men Adam and Steve, nor amanda and eve.

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God."

-1 Corinthians 6:9-10

God excepts everyone, but there is not a person God doesn't change

No, being gay is not OK with God. He loves the person but not the actions of gays. He calls it an abomination to Him. She needs to realize that this is a lie from the enemy telling her she was created that way. She needs to get into His Word and listen to what He is saying to her. She cannot remain gay and living as a gay and walk the christian walk. If she says she can then she is listening to satan and not to the Holy Spirit. There are even people in the church that will make excuses as to why there are people that are gay. In 1 Cor 7 starting in verse 9 there is a list of things that will not inherit the kingdom of heaven, one of them being those who participate in homosexuality. If being gay is OK with God why would He create them that way then deny them heaven? Think about it.

Not sure what a "hard core" Christian is, but I hope I'm one! :13:

Christianity is more a relationship, rather than a "religion one can practice" - that was a bit of a red flag to me. Are you sure she has a true relationship with the living God??

As for her being a homosexual - how does she reconcile that with the Scriptures that teach this is 100% sin and an abomination to God?? She is probably rationalizing it some way (if she is truly a Christian), or she just isn't a Christian. I have no idea which it is.

No, God doesn't "accept anyone". If He did - then why did He give His creation His guidelines and laws? If He "accepts anyone", then it would just be one big free-for-all with everyone doing exactly what they want to do with no thought to what God requires of us, for after all, they're all saved anyway. God can not look upon sin, He is too perfect and Holy. Only through Christ does He accept us. Your sister may very well know Christ, but has not yet matured in her walk to realize that she is in sin. If that is the case, God won't let her go on very long, as Scripture says He will not be mocked and it also speaks against continual, willful sin.

Have you spoken to her about her choices and what God says about them? Perhaps you could broach the subject in a non-hostile, non-confrontational way.

I would worry more about the state of her heart than her sexual choices right now, and let God take care of them. JMO. :noidea:

I have never spoken to her about her being gay and about it being not ok to God. Religion is a very touchy subject to alot of people and I guess i'm waiting for her to take the first move. I believe she will find her way.

Well, you are doing her a very big disservice.

What if I came by your house one night, saw that it was on fire, knew you were asleep inside, and didn't try to help you? What if I just said, "Oh well, NH Marine will smell the smoke soon enough, and get out on his/her own?" What if I made no attempt to bang on the window and wake you and your family up and tell you that your house is on fire? What kind of person would you think me to be? That is what you are doing here.

Shiloh,

What are you babbling about? Being in a house fire? Not even close to being the same thing. You should educate yourself on the subject. Her sister is gay not burning in a fire. She sounds like she hasn't talked to her about it but she NEVER said she wouldn't. Give her a break.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
