Tell you what. I will mail you $100 check if you can name one war since 1945 in which prisoners of war were charged with crimes and given a trial before being held as prisoners of war...from any of the nations that signed the geneva compact. You have one week. Go.

The difference of course is that in WWII, POW's were combatants, wearing the uniform of the enemy we were fighting against. It's a different set of circumstances this time.

However, under the current policy of this administration, you could be arrested and sent to Guantanomo, for merely being suspected of a terrorist crimes and your Constitutional Rights taken away.

Now, you may like to believe that they are only arresting terrorist and supporters of terrorism only, but we're talking the government here. Those in power, will use this against anyone they want to punish. This is akin to tactics of the Gestapo and Stalinist. If Bill Clinton were president or had John Kerry won the election, most in here would be screaming against this sort of abuse by our government!

Name one, just ONE US civilian that was taken off US soil and put in Cuba. Just one. Or cite presidence that says they can do this. Keep in mind, I've read the Patriot Act five times and understand it in it's entirety, so you may not want to go that route.

Also, I don't have a problem with the Patriot Act, as you presumed. I have a problem with the potential abuse of power, that many seem willing to hand over to the government.

Keep this in mind;... if you give this administration slack on human rights violations, you will have to allow future adminstrations the same. They may not be Christian or Jewish sympathizers.
