Try this one out...

Luke 2:1. Notice some translations have the word Roman in it. Most don't. Does that surprise you? If you research the Greek, you won't see ROMAN in there. ( I couldn't find it.). So why do some translations add this?

I'm not telling you.

???? Odd.

But I did notice that if you use the same site to check the book of Revelation chapter 13 the Greek word is different. References to the Beast ruling the World is the Greek word(s) for 'Earth'. Whereas in Luke 2:1 the Greek word translates as 'inhabited World'.

That suggests to me that the End Times reign of the Beast does refer to the entire Earth and not the Roman world as mentioned in Luke.

The possibilities are many. I have been flirting with some really extravagant ideas that if proved true would turn out rather interesting. I don't voice them much because I have thought I had it all figured out before and proved wrong. Either way it is getting weirder by the day.

same word is used in Matthew 24:14 where it says that the Gospel will be preached unto all the world....    same Greek word.    So are we going to change doctrine as to who is going to be preached to.

Here is what Oak was referencing. Draw your own conclusions friends.

I'm not telling you or anyone what to think or what conclusions to draw. Everyone has to do their own homework and figure it out for themselves. It's worth more to you that way, not when someone spoon feeds it to you.

Can't you tell I'm a teacher.

I have been learning that splitting hairs over the use of one word over another is truly a fruitless endavor. I have been studying the English language and doing comparison/contrast to other languages only to find that the dynamics of the Ebglish language give us more ways to say the exact same thing using wotds that look and sound completely different.

Paraphrasing.......    most people I talk with don't like that in a Bible.
