The shops are running out of sun block. I'm thinking of installing air conditioning. My buckets and spades are ready for the beach, a quick trip to Brighton maybe , but the trains are packed with holiday makers. The motorways have mile long queues of people leaving the city to avoid the heat. Maybe later today I shall go and paddle in the Thames and have an ice cream. It is so dry here that for many days we had no frost or fog. Now we have fog in the mornings but it condenses as frozen fog or ice on the roads. There are still traces of snow in shaded areas. It is a bit dreary out. How I appreaciate the blessing of a warm house. The homeless shelters are nearly full. Some people refuse them because they can't bring their pets there. It is so cold out my dog doesn't want to do her business on the icy snow. Poor little girl. She did manage to go though and I'm so glad for that.
