I went outside today and saw an owl in broad daylight. Can anyone tell me if this has happened to them and what it might mean? He was the first thing I noticed and I the first thing he noticed. Any replies would be a great help to me. Thank you....

I don't think It means anything, but I'm curious to know why you believe you were the first thing the Owl noticed? Thank you... Oh and I did see an Owl awake in the day before, not sure if I woke it up though.

Some owls are diurnal. But they will hunt any time they are hungry. When food is scarse as when it is very cold they will sometimes hunt, but now when the ground is thawing and mice are coming out, they will be out making up for the lean weeks. You may also see more hawks about. When they are nesting and have owlets to feed you will find them hunting throughout the day as well.

It was amazing :happyhappy: Last Sunday I drove the Church Van to gather children to Church. As I

was going to pick up the children, in a woodsy like area, there on the high line was a young owl

and as I drove by He looked at me and I at him :) I was telling the children I picked up about it

and to my astonishment He was there when I was returning... so the children looked at the owl

and the owl looked at the children. I had just read this thread a day or so before :) Love, Steven

Yes a very few in my recollection maybe 6 or 7 and I am 57 almost needled on 58 :)

It was very odd for Him to set there as I drove by 15 to 20 feet off the road ...

but sit he did and I thought him rather unwise for that :24:

There are a lot of owls that live in Charlotte North Carolina.

We have two that live in Shawnee Oklahoma that I am aware of.    They help with rodents and stray cats.

It's been a while since we went to North Carolina, but as I remember the tour we were taking about night life there it seems that as the old growth forest was removed in that part of the state, the owls found that the city was not a bad place to live.....   it's illegal to hurt them and food is available (they eat a lot of birds).   It's really not a bad life for owls.    A lot of tree huggers said that when we cut down all the old growth forests they would go extinct, but in reality they are taking up city life quite well.
