Have you heard about the prophecy of Rabbi Judah ben Samuel?  If so, what are your thoughts.

In 1217, Rabbi Judah ben Samuel wrote the following prophecy: "When the Ottomans conquer Jerusalem they will rule over Jerusalem for eight jubilees. Afterwards Jerusalem will become no-man’s land for one jubilee, and then in the ninth jubilee it will once again come back into the possession of the Jewish nation – which would signify the beginning of the Messianic end time."

The Ottoman's (the Turks) captured Jerusalem in 1517 and held it until 1917 (400 years or 8 jubilees).  The British then conquered the Turks in 1917 and Jerusalem became no man's land for the next 50 years (1 jubilee).  In 1967, Jerusalem went back into the possesion of the Jewish people.

I took a moment to look him up. Apparently, he was a Jewish mystic. If he had not accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, which it does not appear that he had, he would not be a trustworthy source to look to. :)

I know Jerusalem will be trampled on by the gentiles until the age of grace ends, so here it is 2015 and the gentiles are still occupying the temple mount and won't let any Jews worship on it.

i don't believe the Bible said the temple mount......    just Jerusalem....    and they do have control over Jerusalem.....    actually they "Allow" the Jordanians to control the temple mount....

I was told by a Rabbi here that the powers there were concerned that someone would defile the temple mount so they were keeping Jews from it until time to rebuild the temple....

I don't know if he knows what he's talking about but it sounded pretty logical to me.

Hi other one.

I have looked at many web sites trying to find out more about the prophecy.  He only said that the Jewish people would possess Jerusalem in the ninth jubilee, which would signify the beginning of the Messianic end time.

I've heard some of the Bible prophecy teachers saying it means that the rapture is near, or that the messiah must come in 2017.  I think it only means that the end times began in 1967.  Jesus said that the generation that sees these things would also see His return.  I believe we are that generation.

Why does he have to come in 2017. 2015 sounds good to me.  :)

Hi other one and tigger398

Some of the web sites and the Bible prophecy teachers add to the prophecy, saying that the next jubilee (2017) must have some special meaning, like the rapture or the coming of the Messiah.

I think the prophecy is just telling us that the end times started in 1967.
