We'll just have to see if Congress lets them do it.....   they do answer to Congress, not the president.

There is also litigation. The fcc tried this in 2008 to a more limited degree and got clobbered in court. So, they reclassified broadband providers as public utilities in this specific rule set, in an attempt to give themselves regulatory authority, but did so through non-statutory fiat (no law has been passed here). Broadband companies are certainly going to argue that they do not fit this description and that the fcc did this to circumvent previous decisions regarding net neutrality by the courts. They will have at least a reasonable chance of winning I think.

While companies like Google and Netflix support the FCC’s proposal, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, and AT&T oppose it. The latter company has threatened to sue the commission, CNN reported earlier this month.

I find it interesting that Netflix is for it and Time Warner and AT&T is against it.......     I think I want to know more about this....
