if I go to a funeral, it is to be supportive of some one that has lost their loved one.

as for me going to them just cause i knew the person, i usually do not. for that person is no longer there, they are either with the Lord, or they are not, and nothing i can do at this point will change that.

one of my best friends died when i was a Jr in High school, no, i did not go to his funeral, for he was not there, he was with the Lord, this i know for sure.

my wifes mother died, i attended for my wife, mom was not there, she was also with the Lord.

there have been many i have not gone to, and only a few i did go to. the bodies never look like the person, so you are not even seeing a good image of their shell. I prefer to remember them as i knew them....

I have lost 4 customers in as many months, all of which i was close to personally as well as professionally. i did not attend any of the funerals.. why? they were not there, they went home, and are no longer in pain, they can walk with out aide they can FLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If i go to a funeral, it is to help others that are grieving, and if everyone else has some one to help them thru it, then i dont go.

3 EB, I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my best friend once and it hurt like I never believed possible and SHE led me along the path to Salvation. I used to see her in the shops, but it wasn't ever her or going to be and it often caught me offguard. I'd see clothes I knew she'd like or a little trinket I'd want to buy her and then I'd remember... One thing I can say to you, is that YOU DON'T KNOW if, in the last moments of her life, that she DIDN'T give her life to Christ! Your friend spent her time with Christians, you said. Well, at least have the faith that your love reached her before she went to Eternity. Stand firm upon the love that you shared with her, the times you spent together and trust that your beloved friend walked WITH Jesus into His Heavenly Kingdom

My heart is with you and I am praying for you.

With forever love :taped:

YSIC

Is it bad that I didn't go to her funeral?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

No, it isn't bad. Some people find funerals helpful to go to, a chance to say a final goodbye and remember the life that is now lost but not everyone sees it like that and it isn't a bad thing at all.

I only go to funerals if I am very close to the person or feel a special connection to the person. In my life I have only ever been to 3 funerals, 2 friends from church (both very strong believers and amazing people) and my gran. I found them helped me to realise what they meant to me and helped me to say 'goodbye' that bit easier. The biggest thing for my grans funeral was that she wasn't saved and the thought really worried me. However, in the address by my vicar (sorry, can't think of the actual name) he said that she had once said she wished she had faith. He said that he saw that as 'knocking' and then went onto say the bit about knocking and the door being opened. I didn't know she had said that... maybe there is a similar thing with your friend? If not, it is not your fault. You did your best to lead her towards the light.

It isn't bad that you didn't go to her funeral and you shouldnt see it like that, in the same way that some people feel bad if they don't cry at a funeral. It affects people in different ways. Not everyone wants to go to the funeral and that is fine, it doesn't mean you cared about the person or missed the person any less.

Sorry, I've rambled.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
