And then they will decide that the liberals are right about mankind, that we are a virus of the world and need to be exterminated....   that's when the daleks will be built.

As much as automation has taken over certain sectors of society, the personal touch of dealing with a human being will never be removed. Think people are tired of automation in some cases, and just want to deal with a live person. lol I will never trust an automated car. No way.

That's not true Deidre.

Automation was the first machine revolution.     It replaced a good number of jobs in assembly in the industrial sector.

AI is the second machine revolution which is upon us right now.

Industry is already warning businesses and employess, even in white collar jobs, that if they are not able to distinguish themselves and prepare for this, within 10 years it is expected that AI will have taken over a great many jobs - even white collar ones.

It will never replace human beings entirely. It has replaced humans in many sectors, yes...but it will never replace humans, entirely. Entirely is the operative word. lol

Those who can distinguish themselves and make it difficult for AI to replace them will not be replaced.  But the numbers that will be replaced will be huge.

For some reason, I couldn't quote you again lol Yes, I agree..it will be huge, but there is always a backlash when mankind tries to hurt mankind and turn to greed as it's idol. That's what it's all about, greed. :/

I found myself thinking about scenes out of star wars where there are masses of people trying to eek out  a living deep in the lower parts of a city  . . . .
