I believe the Root Cause of Islamic Terrorism is the Quran, and the Hadith... It's the Media that these People are reading that is exciting them to violence... They are just doing what Allah has told them to do.

  Here we go again. How many times do we have to do this? The root cause of Islamic Terrorism is not the Quran. That's just a line being fed to Christians, to make them feel more secure in their beliefs. 'Islamic Terrorism' is just a 'symptom' of a bigger problem. If we can't see that, then there's no hope for peace between our cultures. It's time to start looking at the 'real' problems and not just the symptoms.

  The root cause of ISLAM 'is' their doctrine, the Quran. The root cause of Islamic terrorism(terrorism by Islamic people) is not the Quran. This is just a ploy being used to confuse the issue, because it's easier to look at a religion(or idea) that we don't understand and place blame, than it is to look at the real problem and try to fix it.

So when they are calling for Jihad it's not done in the name of Allah?  

When they are killing in the name of Allah so they can be in paradise with their virgins forever, that's also not the root issue?

What else could it possibly be?

  No George, it's not the root issue. Yes, there is something in the Quran that makes sacrificing your life in the name of Allah meaningful. That doesn't make it the cause. If it were that simple, all Muslims would be doing it. It's a select few who make that choice, it's not prevalent in the religion. It can be concluded that if it's not a prevalent feature of the religion, and simply a small percentage, then to label all of ISLAM as terrorists, would be making a false statement. Furthermore, to label the religion of ISLAM as evil, would also be false, or at the most one's own opinion.

  The bible says to stone homosexuals and adulterers etc. If I were to strap a bomb(perhaps a modern day stone) to my chest and run in to a 'gay bar' and blow myself up because the Bible says to kill homosexuals, wouldn't make me right. There is a small group of so called 'Christians' who believe in this type of thing. But they do not represent all of Christianity.

Well-said Prime but remember that it is the Islamic teachers from their pulpits that have been crying out for Jihad!  Remember those in the middle east have a fundamentalist point of view according to the Quran, and have been so indoctrinated through gov'ts in the Middle East, which are dictatorships regimes in which the people cannot freely think for themselves.  To say that Islam is not a major part in the indoctrination process used by these gov'ts is not addressing the entire issue.

  An excellent point George. These countries are dictatorships, who use the 'pulpits' as a tool to control their people. That, in my opinion, is the main 'cause' of the terrorism not the religion of Islam. The religion is a 'tool' these dictators are using. Along with, poverty, lack of education, and controlling all forms of media in their countries. Eliminating these dictatorships would go along way in reducing this kind of terrorism. Let's put the blame where it belongs, on these vicious dictators who lie and coerce there people in to becoming weapons of terror.
