other one, do you think its reasonable to expect that just because some individual somewhere wants the catholic church to publicly address what's going on politically somewhere in the world that they would do so?  I don't.

As I said, you could call the Vatican.

that is where we differ.....   I shouldn't have to call the vatican...    They should be concerned about thier name...     so i have to assume that they either don't care, or agree.

The names of all church members are on its mailing lists, weekly offertory envelopes, etc.

And you know for a fact that the people involved have their names on an official mailing list, etc?

it's making global news and reflecting on the RCC name.....   it doesn't matter if they are members or not, and if not they should be saying so.

i disagree other one.  I don't agree that just because a group points the finger at the Catholic Church and says "jump" that the Catholic Church should say  "how high."

then it shouldn't bother you if we think that the church agrees with what they are doing.

Who cares???

You can think what you want, but to smear someone else's faith because of the actions of others that you can't even prove are part of that faith isn't what I expect to see from fellow christians.

Where is it that the catholic church down there isnt the real catholic church? I know the rcc came out against the drug saints and said those were bad. But they do not return drug money given to the church. They do not say those are not real catholic churches.

If you read back through the thread, you will see I and myself pointing out the issues.

I would not trust secular news sources to get such things right.
