I have posted many times the Scriptures about Heaven, If you have not seen them here is some of it.

Scriptures teach that Heaven is inhabited. (1 Kings 22:19; 2 Chron. 18:18; Matt.18:10; 22:30; 24:36; Rev. 12:12; 13:6).

Armies and hosts of Heaven are mentioned an number of times as seen in these passages and in Dan. 4:35; Luke 2:13; Rev. 19:14. These inhabitants are listed in part as common angels, archangels, seraphim, cherubim and other spirit beings. Heavenly bodies are mentioned in 1 Cor. 15:48-49. Rejoicing in Heaven is referred to by the inhabitants in Heaven (Ps. 96:11; 148:1, 4; Isa.44:23; Rev. 12:12). 8. Paul speaks of "the invisible things" in Heaven as being like the visible things on Earth; that is the things in Heaven are just like the things on Earth. (Rom. 1:20). The word "things" is used in many passages in referring to realities in Heaven. (Phil. 2:10; Col 1:16-20; Heb. 8:12; 9:23). We know from Scripture that in Heaven there are Cities (Rev.21), mansions (John 14:1-3), trees, rivers (Rev.22:1-3), fountains of water (Rev. 7:17), food (Ex.16:4; Ps.78:25: 105:40; John 6:31-51: Luke 22:16, 18, 30; Rev. 2:7, 17: 19:1-10; 22:1-3).

Animals are mentioned as being in Heaven in these following Scriptures; (2 Kings 2:11-12; 6:13-17; Zech. 1:8-11: 6:1-8; Rev. 19:11-14, 21: Rom. 1:20).

All these things are mentioned, furniture, tongs (Isa.6:6), fire and coals (Isa. 6:6; Rev.8:5) censer and incense (Rev. 8:4-6), smoke (Rev. 8:4; 15:8), musical instruments (Rev. 5:8; 14:1-5; 15:2-4), clothes (Dan. 7:9; Rev. 1:13; 6:9-11), stones (Rev. 2:17), books (Rev. 3:5; 5:1-7; 10:1-11; 20:11-15), Also mentioned in Scripture are, vials or bowls, crowns, thunderings, lightnings, clouds, lamps, a sea of glass, singing, worship, palm trees, temples, silence, so there must also be noise at other times, trumpets, hail, mountains, keys and chains, measuring sticks, olive trees, the ark of the testament, doors, posts, girdles, pearls, diamonds and other precious stones, walls, gates, gold in abundance, streets, fruits, banquets, and many other inumerable things.

If the invisible things in the heavenlies are clearly seen by the things on Earth, as Paul taught in Rom. 1:20, then we have a right to believe that there are in Heaven the same kind of things that we have on Earth. We have no right to make an exception of any good thing that God created and intended for man to have before the fall.

I have checked these texts out, and wow, is all I have to say.

What a fantastic collection you have.

BTW, Romans 1:20 is talking about what constitutes matter, that visible things which we perceive, are actually made and supported by things/powers invisible. And that in turn, these invisible powers are created and upheld by God - "even the Godhead" as Paul says.

This is perfectly in accord with Scripture. Also, just as the Holy of Holies was a perfect cube, the New Jerusalem is a perfect cube, and has the dimensions of continental proportions. The New Jerusalem descends from Heaven but hovers over the earth like a heavenly body.

Could not the description also fit as a pyramid.

I don't think there is anything wrong with that concept, although I have not found the texts to prove it. From what I have read, the earth is altered by Jesus, and mountains pushed aside to make a great plain on which the city settles. Also the Bible states that Zion will be built up, which reduces the overall incline as a few other factors do. For example Psalms 102:16 speaks about the Lord building up Zion - spiritually, which is also manifested physically, seeing that heavenly things are all symbolic of spiritual values.

And for instance, Zech 14:4 talks about the mountains being removed. Daniel 2:35, speaks about a mountain which fills the whole earth. Heaven is large enough to cover the greater part of Africa, which from outer space fills the face of the globe.

Pyramids are associated with pagans but the New Jerusalem is the ultimate Holy of Holies, since God and the Lamb are the "the temple of it" (Rev 21:22).

The twelve gates, three on each side of the city, New Jerusalem will never be closed;

Rev. 21: 25, And the gates of it SHALL NOT BE SHUT at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

Why is that?

Because Earthly and natural people will not live in the city, but they will traffic in the city. If the new Jerusalem is hovering above the Earth, that kind of makes it inconvenient, if not difficult for ordinary people to traffic through the city wouldn't it? Or do you think maybe God will provide a regular space shuttle service to and from it?

The inhabitants of the new Jerusalem (John 14:1-3; Heb. 11:10-16; 12:22; 13:14; Rev. 3:12; 12:12; 21:2-5, 9; 22:3-4). It can be seen from these passages that God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, angels, redeemed glorified saints, seraphim, cherubim, and other heavenly folk will inhabit the city. Earthly and natural people will not live in the city. They will merely traffic in the city. The city is called "The Bride, the Lambs wife," for it is "prepared" for the glorified saints, [which you will be], and faithful angels as an eternal home. So it is for "US" including "YOU!"

The traffic in New Jerusalem will consist of natural peoples who live through the Millennium and who do not rebel with Satan against God at the end of the Millennium. They will be permitted to enter the new Earth to plant, harvest, build, multiply and replenish the Earth as Adam and his seed would have done if they had not fallen.  These people will traffic in the New Jerusalem and walk in its light and their Kings will bring glory and honor of the nations into it and to God forever. There will be natural men on this Earth forever and all natural life will continue in all eternity as God intended when He created such life on Earth.

Possibly, but not in the way you and I might imagine.  Why not leave the matter to God and He will resolve it according to His own design? The earth will have its own inhabitants and we are not really given much detail about future access to the heavenly city.  What we can be sure about is that it is a heavenly city not an earthly city.

He tells us exactly how it will be, all we need do is believe what we read. New Jerusalem will come down to Earth, not above the Earth, not beside the Earth, but TO THE EARTH;

Rev. 21: 2, And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

A bride comes down the isle to her husband to be, not to be near him, above him, below him, beside him, or to hover over him, but she comes down TO HIM!

We need to stop adding to the Word of God, making up pet theories, pet ideas, and we definitely need to stop adding to Scripture, which is not there. No where in Scripture does it say the New Jerusalem will HOVER above the Earth. Scripture clearly says it will come to the Earth and natural peoples will traffic through it! Why complicate things?

Rev. 21:24, And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. [They shall walk through the open gates and bring glory and honour into it.]

V, 25, And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. [The gates will be open forever so that Earthly people can walk into and through it and all about it.]

V, 26, And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

Rev. 22:18, For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

You refuted your own pet theory with this verse.  The nations of the earth can only walk in the light of a heavenly body which is outside and above the earth (as we presently do with the sun).  And God says that there will be no more sun, nor moon, and it is the light from the heavenly Jerusalem alone which will provide light to the earth.  Since it would be an impossibility for the New Jerusalem to be on the earth and at the same time provide light to the whole earth, there goes your pet theory.

Now be careful, God never says "there will be no more sun, nor moon, and it is the light from the heavenly Jerusalem alone which will provide light to the earth."

God actually says;

Rev. 21: 23, AND THE CITY HAD NO NEED OF THE SUN, NEITHER THE MOON TO SHINE IN IT:  for the glory of God did lighten IT, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Now who's adding to the Word again?

[THE GLORY OF GOD, THE LAMB, KING JESUS WILL LIGHT THE CITY!, not the earth] The Earth will continue to receive the light from the sun, and the moon, even seven fold stronger that now.

In the new Heaven and the New Earth, the only thing that will not be in the Earth is the sea according to Scripture.

Rev. 21:  1, And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

The new heaven will contain the sun, moon, and stars.

Show me where in the Bible it is called, your quote;

Quote

"heavenly Jerusalem" . . . ?

While its still in Heaven, before it comes down to the Earth,  it is called an heavenly City, but when its brought down to the Earth its Its simply and clearly called New Jerusalem.
