21 hours ago, Ezra said:

But that's not where it ends. That is the first heaven, then we have the second heaven, and finally we have the third heaven (which is God's Heaven, and where the New Jerusalem and Paradise are located, and where sit the thrones of God and Christ).

It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)  How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. (2 Cor 12:1-4).

Shalom, Ezra.

No, brother, that's not what it means. 2 Peter 3:3-13 is the key to what Paul is talking about.

2 Peter 3:3-13
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old ("first heaven"), and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens ("second heaven") and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens ("third heaven") and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
KJV

He wasn't talking about three heavens spatially, that is "first heaven of clouds, second heaven of stars, third heaven God's abode"; he was talking about three heavens (three SKIES) SEQUENTIALLY THROUGH TIME, the first heaven before the Flood, the second heaven after the Flood and before the Fire, and the third heaven after the Fire! John doesn't talk about the first heaven, but he DID talk about the second heaven (the old heaven) and the third heaven (the new heaven). And, these are SKIES - ATMOSPHERES - around the earth for these periods!

See, in 2 Cor. 12, the translation of the Greek words "harpagenta" or "heerpagee" (both from "harpazoo") should NEVER have been with the word "UP!" The word "up" (Greek: "ana") is not in the passage at all, and the translation of the Greek word "harpazoo" should have been "seized" or "snatched away!" There is absolutely NOTHING implied for the direction "up!"

NT:726 harpazoo (har-pad'-zo); from a derivative of NT:138; to sieze (in various applications):
KJV - catch (away, up), pluck, pull, take (by force).

A better way to interpret 2 Cor. 12:1-4 is that Paul said,

2 Corinthians 12:1-4
1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one snatched away
(through time) to the third heaven.
3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
4 How that he was snatched away
(through time) into paradise (the Park of God), and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
KJV

NT:3857 paradeisos (par-ad'-i-sos); of Oriental origin [compare OT:6508]; a park, i.e. (specifically) an Eden (place of future happiness, "paradise"):
KJV - paradise.

OT:6508 pardeec (par-dace'); of foreign origin; a park:
KJV - forest, orchard.

(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003, 2006 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

See, "paradise" is a TRANSLITERATION of the Greek word "paradeisos" but the word means a "PARK!" Even the Hebrew word means the same, specifically a "PARK OF TREES" or an "ORCHARD!"

This interpretation of the passage is consistent with the Greek words and with the way that prophets were ALWAYS conducted to the future to see events that would unfold.

The New Jerusalem DOES contain a "paradise," a "park of trees":

Revelation 22:1-2
1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it
(the city), and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
KJV

In the median of the city's street, the park containing the species of the "tree of life" can be found.

I believe these verses are talking LITERALLY about the people who YHWH rescues SPARKLING LIKE jewels in a crown! Observe the following interpreted in this respect:

1 Corinthians 15:40-43
40 There are also celestial (Greek: soomata epourania) bodies, and bodies terrestrial (Greek: soomata epigeia): but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
KJV

We will glow, too, as we reflect the light of God, and I believe this passage is saying that we will glow at different brightnesses and with different hues - different colors!

God isn't going to obliterate where His throne is:

"Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom." (Psalm 45:6, NASB, emphasis mine)

Scripture indicates where God's throne is:

" After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things.” Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and One sitting on the throne. And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones; and upon the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white garments, and golden crowns on their heads." (Revelation 4:1-4, NASB, emphasis mine)

Ezra is right on this; the three "heavens" are the atmospheric heavens, the celestial heavens (space) and God's throne/ New Jerusalem.

No, there are a few things you are forgetting: First of all, in Psalm 45:6, the word for "throne" there is the Hebrew word "kic'akhaa" from the word "kiccee' or kicceeh," which means a "canopied seat or throne."

Second, you are piece-mealing this together with a GREEK passage found in Revelation 4:2 using the Greek word "thronos" meaning a "stately seat" or "power."

So, you really don't know that this is talking about the same thing.

Also, you are forgetting something else that you CAN deduce from the Greek passages of Hebrews 12:22 and Revelation 21:1-22:4: The New Jerusalem is currently ABOVE the heaven - the SECOND heaven - the skies which are now, in outer space, and shall NOT be destroyed with the current skies! It doesn't descend to the New Earth (and its NEW Skies) until AFTER the destruction of the Fire!

Ezra is NOT right. Neither is anyone else who persists in thinking this Scofield Reference Bible nonsense!

Shalom, FresnoJoe.

I agree; the Twelve Tribes of Israel ARE those whom YHWH, through His Messiah Yeshua`, rescues when Yeshua` returns. Sounds like we're pretty close to being on the same page.

I should have mentioned the picture of this in Moses' life:

Exodus 34:29-35
29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.
30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.
31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.
32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.
33 And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.
34 But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.
35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.
KJV

We also see the same thing happening on the Mount of Transfiguration:

Matthew 16:27-17:13
27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory (brightness) of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

17:1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said,
This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said,
Arise, and be not afraid.
8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
9 And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying,
Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?
11 And Jesus answered and said unto them,
Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.

13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.
KJV

Mark 8:38-9:13
38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory (brightness) of his Father with the holy angels.
9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
6 For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying,
This is my beloved Son: hear him.
8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
9 And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should
tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.
10 And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.
11 And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?
12 And he answered and told them,
Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.
13 But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.

KJV

Luke 9:26-36
26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory (brightness), and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.
27 But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.

28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.
29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.
30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:
31 Who appeared in glory (brightness)
, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.
32 But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.
33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.
34 While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.
35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying,
This is my beloved Son: hear him.
36 And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.
KJV

So, Moses and Elijah (Elias) were glowing as well in the presence of the Messiah's glory!

Now, imagine a crowd of people surrounding the Messiah in His brightness, all glowing responsively to His shine! If they are glowing at different brightnesses and different colors, wouldn't they look like a giant crown around Him glowing like gems?

Question – What do you know from scripture concerning Christ & His own throne?

It is also interesting to note that this throne of Christ`s, in the angelic realm is where Lucifer had his throne. When Lucifer sinned he was cast out from that glorious realm.

`How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer,....you said in your heart: ...I will exalt my throne above the stars of God...` (Isa. 14: 12 & 13)

Since then God has not appointed any angel to rule there. And we know from God`s word that even though that area was cleansed, no angel will ever be given that authority again.

`For He (God) has not put the world to come, of which we speak, in subjection to angels.` (Heb. 2: 5)

So in God`s timing He will appoint & anoint His ruler over all.  He `sets up,` appoints Christ`s throne (authority) & anoints Him as King over all.

`Immediately I was in the Spirit; & behold a throne was set in heaven...` (Rev. 4: 2)

Set – Gk. `keinai,` meaning to be appointed, set.

`I have set my King on My holy hill of Zion.` (Ps. 2: 6)

Set – Heb. `nacak,` meaning to pour out, to anoint a king, set up.

We are given a pictorial representation of this ceremony – the Father on the throne, with the authority, then gives the authority & the inheritance to His Son.

`And behold in the midst of the throne.....a Lamb....He came & took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.` (Rev. 5: 6 & 7)

`I will declare the decree: the Lord (God the Father) has said to me, “You are my Son,....ask of me & I will give you the nations for your inheritance, the ends of the earth for your possession...` (Ps. 2: 7 & 8)

The difference between Lucifer`s throne & Christ`s throne.

So is there a difference between Lucifer`s throne that he was given & Christ`s throne, appointed by the Father.

In Isaiah 14 we read of Lucifer with a throne – a king, then in Ezekiel 28 we see him as a priest with 9 of the gem stones as on the breastplate of the high priest.

`Lucifer....I will exalt my throne above the stars of God...` (Isa. 14: 13)

`You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom & perfect in beauty. ......every precious stone was your covering: the sardius, topaz & diamond, beryl, onyx & jasper, sapphire, turquoise & emerald with gold.....` (Ez. 28: 12 & 13)

Now we know that Christ is King & High priest, & the 12 gemstones on the High Priest`s breastplate describe certain aspects of His character & attributes.

`...sardius, topaz, & carbuncle....an emerald, sapphire & a diamond,.....a ligure, an agate & an amethyst,....a beryl...an onyx & a jasper..` (Ex. 28: 17 – 20)

Note the 3 gem stones – ligure, agate & amethyst, that were not given to Lucifer. They are specifically related to Christ.

Amethyst – for the tribe of Benjamin, with the meaning of `son of my right hand.`

Ligure –  for the tribe of Ephraim, meaning `fruitful.`

Agate – for the tribe of Manasseh, meaning `to forget – to forgive.`

Thus we realise that Christ is the Son of God the Father who is at His right hand, plus He is the one who receives the inheritance from His Father to rule over all. He is the one who gives forgiveness, bringing many sons to glory, (fruitful)

What is the purpose of this Throne?

I see that God the Father desires to publically honour His Son & present Him visibly to all, exalting Him to the highest place in all creation, (under the Godhead).

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power & riches & wisdom, & strength & honour& glory & blessing. “`(Rev. 5: 12)

God the Father desires that Christ rule over all & gives Him the authority & power to rule over His enemies & bring them under His feet.

Jesus said, “ the Father....has committed all judgment to the Son,...& given Him authority to execute judgment .....` (John 5: 22 & 27)

God the Father also purposes for all things to come together under Christ`s authority.

` God the Father....having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven & which are on earth – in Him.` (Eph. 1: 9 & 10)
