Christ & the Restoring of Rulership.

 

This topic is a key, I believe, to understanding what the Lord is doing in the end-times. Too often we focus on what the Lord is doing for us, when in fact every realm is part of God`s end-time purpose – all rulership to come under the Lordship of Christ.

 

`(The Lord Jesus Christ) He is the image of the invisible God,..... by Him all things were created that are in heaven & that are on earth, visible & invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him & for Him.` (Col. 1: 16)

When Christ created everything, authority positions were put in place & these were all perfect. They were created `for Him.`

 

However as we know sin entered in to every realm & thus there is a need for restitution.

Restitution – Gk. word `apokatastasis,`  - to restore again. It conveys the essential idea of a reverting to a previous state from one of confusion.

 

Thrones & Dominions  (3rd heaven) – Rulership to come under Christ.

Principalities & Powers (Universe)  – Rulership to come under Christ.

Earth – Rulership to come under Christ.

 

God`s word tells us when this will happen -

`Jesus Christ....whom heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things,...` (Acts 3: 21)

 

Question: What do you know from God`s word concerning the `times of restitution?`

Thrones & Dominions –

Lucifer was given an authority position there. However he sinned & was cast out.

`How you have fallen from heaven O Lucifer,....For you have said in your heart;.... I will exalt my throne above the stars of God...` (Isa. 14: 12 & 13)

`You (Lucifer) became filled with violence within, & you sinned; therefore I cast you as a profane thing out of the mountain of God.`(Ez. 28: 16) 

The authority position is still there as `all things were created....for Him.` (Col. 1: 16)

 

Principalities & Powers –

`For we do not wrestle against flesh & blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.` (Eph. 6: 12)

These positions of authority were usurped by Satan (Lucifer) & his fallen angels. However those positions of authority will come under Christ`s rulership when He has puts `an end to all rule & all authority & power.` (1 Cor. 15: 24) For  `all things were created through Him & for Him.` (Col. 1: 16)

 

Earth –

` We know that .....the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.` (1 John 5: 19)

`The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord & of His Christ.` (Rev. 11: 15)

And eventually the kingdoms of the world will come under the Lordship of Christ.

Thus every realm will come under Christ`s rulership, each in God`s timing.

When we think of God restoring rulership, we tend to relate this to just the millennial kingdom. While this is part of the restoring of rulership it is not, I believe the first area to come under Christ`s rulership.

I believe the first realm that will have rulership restored is the thrones & dominions realm in the third heaven. We know that Lucifer aspired to ascend into the highest heaven to be as God. Thus corruption entered the thronal realm & so Lucifer was cast out. He then usurped the area of the principalities & Powers, & operates & rules there as the prince of the Power of the air & as such is the subject of unrelenting conflict with the believer.

Now the realm of the Throne has been vacated & cleansed, & must remain unoccupied until that time-slot unequivocally established by Peter.

`Jesus Christ....whom heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things,...` (Acts 3: 21)

The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ will be that impelling compulsion which will implement the restitution of the initial area of God`s purpose.

This term is firstly for the restoration of Israel under Christ, and secondly for the establishment of the Kingdom of God throughout the universe.  Paul says that all of creation is "groaning" under the curse placed upon it through Adam's transgression.  That curse will finally be removed when Christ establishes His own Kingdom.  All power and authority have been given to Him, and after the Kingdom of God is established in this universe, Jesus will hand back to God the Father all the power and authority (1 Cor 15:28).

Thank you for participating on this topic. Now I do agree that there will be a restoration of rulership in Israel under Christ. However can you give us scriptures to show how it is the first area of restoration, please?

Acts chapter 3

FIRST THE TIMES OF REFRESHING FOR ISRAEL

20 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; 20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:.. 26   Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Thank you for those scriptures. So are you saying that when rulership is restored to Israel then that is the beginning of the times of restitution of all things?

ISAIAH 11: KINGDOM OF GOD ON EARTH UNDER CHRIST

1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:... [THE ROD SPEAKS OF CHRIST'S RULERSHIP]

9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. [THE WHOLE EARTH UNDER CHRIST]

10And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious... [THE WHOLE EARTH AT REST]

12  And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. [ISRAEL BROUGHT BACK TO THE PROMISED LAND]

As I said before, I do believe that rulership under Christ will be restored. That is what you are showing here.

However it does not show us that it is the FIRST rulership to be restored. Remember it is the restitution of ALL THINGS.

The restitution of all things comes much later (as I already showed you from Scripture) -- when the New Heavens and the New Earth are established.  So we need to follow God's order of progression.
