The fervent prayer of the righteous can accomplish much.

How?

How does prayer work?

Is it always a request for intercession?

Is it possible that we have misunderstood how faith factors into prayer?

Consider this, science issues a test on a new medication, they give some people meds, some people placebo, but, people in both groups get well, as well as some who do not get well.

How does placebo work?

Placebo works on faith. If you believe something will make you well, it seems that it will. But if you take medicine and believe it will not help, in some cases it will not work.

Jesus before healing someone would ask them if they believed He could heal them.

If they believed, they would be healed. Yet it seems in His home town, He did not do many miracles there, because of their unbelief.

He always seeks permission and asks if they believe before a healing occurs.

Soo it seems faith is the prerequisite for prayer of any type and the power of prayer increases with the faithfulness/belief of the one praying.

Now a slight sidetrack, your 6th sense.

Have you ever been minding your own business, then get that creepy feeling that something isnt right?

You look around and someone or something is staring you down.

Do you know how that works?

It seems that living beings can extend their consciousness out to a point just by concentrating on that point.

You are feeling the emotions of that person or animal as its extending its consciousness to you.

Most of us arent even aware of this hidden interaction between beings, but it happens all the time, and is what women say is their intuition. Women are the more spiritually sensitive being, men are the analytical being, together, if they allow it, they learn to trust the "gifts" God has put in each one.

Now, this extending of your consciousness works for many different scenarios.

Believer and unbeliever, both can have an effect on Matter, through the power of love.

Yet the believers love is Grounded in Godly Love, whereas an unbelievers love is grounded in earthly love, a different level of power in each type.

Therefore the prayer of the righteous/faithful, can accomplish much/ more than an unbeliever.

We as believers or saved, however you want to refer to us, we have the Holy Spirit, therefore when we pray for someone, when we focus our consciousness on that person, can accomplish, in conjunction with our faith, what we would consider Miracles.

Then if we combine our consciousness, by coming together as a group or "church", we increase the power of our prayer!

The power of a Godly Collective Consciousness can change lives.

The power of God from a group of believers who believe with all the faith they can muster, can heal a willing and faithful person of their ills by the annointing of oil and laying on of hands. That's the truth.

Your Faith, your belief can accomplish miracles, and yes of course because of the Power of our Glorious and Magnificent God.

Soo when you pray, concentrate on that person, send your love, send God's Love, To that person, because there is no limit to the distance you can send your consciousness.

The more people who know how prayer works between beings, the more effective the prayer will be.

I hope you gain something from this viewpoint.

Peace upon you.

When we pray we talk to God. We pray standing up,sitting down, kneeling and driving our car or walking down the street. Our prayers are audible or silent. God wants us to talk to Him about everything in our life. We praise Him,thank Him,pour out our hearts to Him, we ask Him for forgiveness and we ask for our daily bread. We as born again Christians have a daily relationship with God and that means communicating with Him daily.

Constant communication, with our Heavenly Father, that is prayer, no matter where as missmuffitt said.

By example...

My all time favorite...

Now the woman was a Gentile, a Syrophoenician by birth. And she begged him to cast the demon out of her daughter. And he said to her, "Let the children be fed first, for it is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs." But she answered him, "Yes, Lord; yet even the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs." And he said to her, "For this statement you may go your way; the demon has left your daughter." And she went home and found the child lying in bed and the demon gone.
(Mar 7:26-30)

whoa!!

Did you read that?

I never thought twice about that verse, "even the dogs UNDER the table eat the children's bread crumbs."

They were eating at tables in 30AD.   Now tables had to be expensive I would think, because they either were made by Masons or Carpenters. The Samaritan woman talked of tables like everyone new what they were, soo they must have been prevalent. Maybe she was not poor, maybe she had some wealth. But the point is they had tables, that gives the view in your head of the Last Supper a whole new twist.

peace to you.

Wow, a deep thinker.

I was just thinking of the persistence aspect of this woman even to the point of barging through any kind of political correctness to get to Jesus :)

WoW, also if you read where Yeshua basically calls her a dog, ouch, but of course He's talking about ALL non-Jews, ouch to us, He is obviously saying that on purpose, hmmmmmmm, (thinking)..........He is making a statement that will test herself, yes that's it, He is not testing her, He's making a statement that will force her to test herself!!! She can either harden her heart or soften her heart more. He's giving her a choice to test her Pride and Faith. Very interesting, He does not offer her a question, He offers her a statement, because a question implies a correct answer, whereas a statement only implies the speakers truth, you there is no answer to hide your intentions, you must think upon your motives and respond honestly or deceptively. I'm going to have to analyze Yeshuas speech more closely.

hope you don't mind me commenting too..... (I'm procrastinating.....:P)   I  also love this exchange..She must really recognize by God's merciful grace who Jesus is......I like how she doesn't miss a beat but so deeply humbles herself before the Lord Jesus willing to beg for the crumbs that have been left over from feeding the 'children' the Jews. All the Bible verses have such depth of meaning & so many deeper understandings and lessons we can take from them. Ok-- now back to work---for me!

Another way of looking at this exchange is from the viewpoint of the people of the age. A mistake we often make is impressing our feelings and emotion of our experience in life, upon the people of the bible.

The people pf the bible are a much more spiritually aware people than people today.

This lady KNEW her child had a demon!

We can speculate on how she knew, but she BELIEVED her child had a demon.

Do you know if someone has a demon?

Would you believe someone if they told you your child had a demon?

These people believed in POWERS, im sure she heard about Yeshua walking around, she is a gentile and not a Jew, Yeshua said Himself to the woman at the well, "you worship what you do not know, Jews worship what we know."

Gentiles had no idea what the Jewish God was about, but they knew powers existed and she knew He was healing people somehow, and that means "theres a chance."

A chance is all a mother needs to get her child help. If this guy is who people say he is, my child has a chance. She was a desperate woman, in a desperate situation, desperately seeking help for, not herself, but her child. A slightly selfless request.

He granted that request, BUT only because of her desperate faith.

Heartfelt faith.

Examine your requests, are they as this womans.

Peace to you.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
