Matthew 24:37-38

As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;

Noah was saved before the wrath :emot-hug: And this verse says we will be saved like noah

So the moral of the story is "Don't watch TV"?

Just what is it you are saying we are to with God's plan of Salvation? Something like this?

Two Christians assaulted while sharing Biblical Message about Homosexuality

Press Release from Wisconsin Christians United

Two Christians were assaulted on a busy street corner in Burlington, Wisconsin while holding signs which read, "Homosexuality is sin," and "Christ can set you free."

Jam 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

Jam 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

Jam 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

Jam 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Jam 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Jam 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Jam 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Jam 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

Jam 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

Jam 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

Jam 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

So the moral of the story is "Don't watch TV"?

Just what is it you are saying we are to with God's plan of Salvation?  Something like this?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

It means that if we "say" we believe, but our actions don't "show" that we believe, then it may not be true faith. James says "even the demons believe and they shudder." If all Noah did was "read" the plans God gave him and "did nothing" then where would Noah be when the floods came? Whoosh!! If I say I believe something, but nothing in my life gives evidence to that faith, then it is not real faith. It is just an intellectual assent that I agree that it is true. True faith means "doing" something. If I say I believe Jesus died for my sins, he forgave me of my sins, but yet I continue to walk in sin (sinful lifestyle), then where is my faith? It means nothing! It is empty! That is what James is talking about in the book of James.

The problem in our churches today is that we are giving people this false idea or false hope that all they have to do is pray some prayer and they have instant Christianity and they are "all set" from that point on. But, read God's word. It doesn't say that. So, if we are saved by grace through "faith," then we need to understand what it means to have "faith." It is not some emotional experience, it is not some intellectual agreement with truth, it is not going to an altar and joining a church - it is a relationship with Jesus Christ. If we say we love Jesus, our lives should reflect that statement. Read the book of I JOHN. That one is an eye opener. All through scriptures we read that "if" we say this, but we don't "do" this, then our actions are not matching our words, and according to the scriptures that means they are just empty words - meaningless.

So, the question comes back around: "Is your faith genuine? Is it built on the "rock"? Or, is it built on the sand and when the judgment of God comes, it will be washed away, because it did not stand the test. The Bible talks much about our faith standing the test, too, and that "he who overcomes will receive..."

The danger here is that people want "instant" faith just like they want "instant" everything else. TV is not the culprit. The culprit is our hearts. Is God our god? Or is TV or recreation or whatever in our lives might be replacing God. Who are we listening to? The TV? Or God? Who do we spend the most time with? I hear so many Christians complain of not having "time" for their devotions as though "devotions" are some thing you do. Our devotion to God should be who we are. It should emanate from every part of our lives. These same people, if asked, will tell you they probably spend 3 to 4 hours a day (plus) watching TV, but they can't squeeze in 5 minutes with God. So, who is their god? If we say we believe, our lives should show it.

This is considered the "faith" chapter of the Bible. Look how it describes "faith." Look at all of the action verbs. Faith is more than words or a feeling or an intellectual assent - it is action!!

Hebrews 11

1Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2This is what the ancients were commended for.

3By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
