This sounds to me like what was termed "The Toronto blessing" in the 90s. I can't believe it is still going on; I haven't heard about it for years and thought it was all over and gone back to where it belongs. It is demonic, that's for sure. Why would God want anyone to behave like this? It is not His character to want people to do this. A good reason we should not look for signs and wonders but to the Master Himself. There is nothing in the Word that I know of that tells us to do this stuff. I have read the Word a few times in my nearly 40 years of being saved and can't understand why people get so fooled. How sad. We definitely need to test the spirits and make sure everything lines up with the Word before entertaining the idea that something could be scriptural. It is the mockers. GOD is a GOD of order & sobriety, He does not get people filled with the Holy Spirit & then act inappropriately. As to Eph 5: 18 `Do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.` God is talking about moral conduct, loose behaviour in regards to drunkenness, while being filled with the Holy Spirit bring sobriety. I agree, but it is a contrast in the sense that the world looks at this type of joy as being drunk whereas in reality they were not.
