Well it depends on what is meant by sweet.

If it is genuine, then praise God, and kind people tend to be sweet.

And here are scriptures on kindness.

2Pe 1:5-7
(5)  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
(6)  And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
(7)  And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

2Co 6:6
(6)  By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,

But then their is so-called sweetness, which are known as flatterers.

For flattering people appear sweet, but are not genuine.

Flattery is always mixed with lies in some form.

Here are scriptures on this:

Pro 20:19
(19)  He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.

Pro 28:23
(23)  He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.

Pro 29:5
(5)  A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

By the way I love Enoob's pickle graphics.

What really do we gain by not being genuine?

If it's all done for Jesus it will count in the end, we can't be always sweet by allowing all kinds of stuff to be posted on the board which is unbiblical and not address it ,that is false and deceiving love, actually you can't call it love..

Love you all in our Risen Lord who is coming back soon :) :emot-heartbeat:

Agree?

We do not gain anything by not being genuine, and at the same time we must guard our hearts.

Is every one on Worthy genuine?

Probably not, and for one thing I do not know every one on Worthy.

I would pray that every one was, but God knows everything, and praise God for that.

I like covering both sides of the coin, for we get a balanced view of things.

And can a Christian fall into flattery if he does not guard his heart, of course he can.

In fact we probably all fell into this at one time or another, and felt sorry about it, and was repentfull.

But let us remember to guard our hearts, and never fear to talk about both sides of the coin.

Amen ,we do need to guard our heart at all times!

Proverbs 4 :23
…22For they are life to those who find them And health to all their body. 23Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. 24Put away from you a deceitful mouth And put devious speech far from you.…

I agree flattery is false. I call people sweet in the sense like Jesus was a sweet smelling offering. When God is pleased with someone he finds it as a sweet smell. And likewise wrong doing a bad smell. But mostly i was joking. Not everyone has been perfect to me .
