I have done that as well and thought I missed my chance.  But since then I have decided that if it is meant to be heard, God would be sure that someone says it to those who need to hear.  Meanwhile, it made me more eager to speak out when I thought a different thought needed to be considered as well.

Don't beat yourself up our condemn yourself.  God doesn't.

I'm the one always keeping my mouth zipped for sake of harmony but I'm getting tired of it.

I want to express my opposite opinion without getting silence, the comment completely ignored or not being spoken to for a month.

Most case it's as if I never spoke and conversation continues on something completely different.

I've visited forums for awhile now. I would wonder who someone is praying to when the afford their answers on religious or Bible forums. There's no way to tell if someone is that self-professed Christian they claim to be on-line.

Just speak the truth and don't be dissuaded by those who are opposed. Remember, Jesus hand fashioned a whip that he used to chase money changers from his father's house. Even Christ had a temper.

There's nothing wrong with standing for what's right. We're to be the saints of God and warriors for Christ. Not doormats for trolls and others who take advantage of the meek . (hugs) Blessings.

Sometimes silence comes across as agreement to something you totally do not agree with.

In some situations, the above is true as in the case of the recent gender approvals happening all over the world.  In the workplace and public places you cannot discuss or say anything that may be misinterpreted as offensive or you can be disciplined or brought before the courts. Therefore silence is the best choice.   You also have to be prepared for issues of life to get more complicated with laws of the land and humanism.

Proverbs 23King James Version (KJV)

23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

The book of Proverbs does presents us with  astounding advice and instructions. A refresh reading every so often is a confidence booster, so to speak in one's journey in this life.

Might consider cherry picking a line or two from Solomon

Proverbs 25English Standard Version (ESV)

More Proverbs of Solomon

25 These also are proverbs of Solomon which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied.

It is the glory of God to conceal things,
but the glory of kings is to search things out.
As the heavens for height, and the earth for depth,
so the heart of kings is unsearchable.
Take away the dross from the silver,
    and the smith has material for a vessel;
take away the wicked from the presence of the king,
and his throne will be established in righteousness.
Do not put yourself forward in the king's presence
or stand in the place of the great,
for it is better to be told, “Come up here,”
than to be put lower in the presence of a noble.

What your eyes have seen
do not hastily bring into court,[a]
for[b] what will you do in the end,
when your neighbor puts you to shame?
Argue your case with your neighbor himself,
and do not reveal another's secret,
10 lest he who hears you bring shame upon you,
and your ill repute have no end.

11 A word fitly spoken
is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.
12 Like a gold ring or an ornament of gold
is a wise reprover to a listening ear.
13 Like the cold of snow in the time of harvest
    is a faithful messenger to those who send him;
he refreshes the soul of his masters.
14 Like clouds and wind without rain
is a man who boasts of a gift he does not give.

15 With patience a ruler may be persuaded,
and a soft tongue will break a bone.
16 If you have found honey, eat only enough for you,
lest you have your fill of it and vomit it.
17 Let your foot be seldom in your neighbor's house,
lest he have his fill of you and hate you.
18 A man who bears false witness against his neighbor
is like a war club, or a sword, or a sharp arrow.
19 Trusting in a treacherous man in time of trouble
is like a bad tooth or a foot that slips.
20 Whoever sings songs to a heavy heart
is like one who takes off a garment on a cold day,
    and like vinegar on soda.
21 If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat,
and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink,
22 for you will heap burning coals on his head,
and the Lord will reward you.
23 The north wind brings forth rain,
and a backbiting tongue, angry looks.
24 It is better to live in a corner of the housetop
than in a house shared with a quarrelsome wife.
25 Like cold water to a thirsty soul,
so is good news from a far country.
26 Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain
is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.
27 It is not good to eat much honey,
nor is it glorious to seek one's own glory.[c]
28 A man without self-control
is like a city broken into and left without walls.

Yes, you are right about public spaces and I read Proverbs everyday as part if my Bible studies.

My situation is personal with someone close and I just feel for the sake of harmony , I am being dishonest and it's getting to me.

May be I'm being pricked into fixing the situation - I know it needs fixing.
