Here is a solution that would save money and not drive us further into debt.

We have about 95,000 troops in Europe right now that cost the US money to keep there. We bring half of them home and station them along the southern border.  That is close to 50,000 troops to guard 1000 miles of border.

We save money on troops in Europe, we save money on not building a wall and we save money each year on not maintain the wall and not paying for those troops in Europe.  And our military is actually defending OUR country vice someone else's.

That would be a good solution indeed, but...

With the current build-up of the Military in Europe right now I don't think that Congress would go for that idea.

They still want to play king-of-the-hill with Putin over there.

I think this is sad. PBS offers so many cultural programs that can't be seen anywhere else. Ballet performances, science programs, history, culture and the arts. Many of these types of programs will cease to be if we lose PBS, because for profit stations prefer trash like reality shows and violence and nudity.

But at that same time he is telling them not to spend 25 billion on a needless project.

We have corrupt Mexicans coming into America doing some very bad things. Many of them are involved with drugs. Not all of them are bad but many of them are. They kick them out of America but then they come back again in a few months with a different name. We need to keep these destruction people out of America. How are we going to do it?

I think that you're right about the possibility of losing some content of "good" shows on TV.

Still, I think that they can continue doing a fine job at producing good material without the

monies that they get from the tax-payers. Private donations should suffice.

PBS/NPR should have gone private long time ago that is for sure.

This is classic Trump though, big headline, little impact.  He is going to spend 25 billion dollars on a wall we do not need, but hey lookie here, I am cutting out a half a billion to make up for it!

It is still about headlines and not substance with Trump.  I doubt that will ever change.

Your opinion is your opinion but that's all it is.  Saving a half billion seems pretty substantial to me.  And we DO need the wall.  Would you have the POTUS make these decisions in secret then?

That is something that needs to be addressed as well.

I agree.. that's why I think that we need manned/satellite patrols of the entire areas.
